Engine is almost ready to go back into the zed just a couple more things, its been such a long time coming I have forgotten alot of stuff I noted when pulling the engine to bits, so here goes:

Q1. The silicon/rubber coupling that connects the presurized side of the turbo to the hard pipes that goes onto the intercooler what diameter are the couplers (both ends) and how long are they?

Q2. The water lines from the turbos back to the hard water pipes, there are 4pipes (im using braided water hose) however cant for the life of me remember how to connect the dots.

I will be running AMS manifolds with GT600R turbos, they say the kit is bolt on, my a*rse it is. Maybe its bolt on if using stock manifolds but from my recent experience the oil return lines dont match up (going to get some silicon ones from coz because i couldnt be bothered cuting/welding the metal ones to match the oil pan) Also on the drivers side the wastegate arm hits the top of the oil tree (had to grind some meat off to get the necessary clearance) not to mention on the passenger side turbo the hard pipe from the air filter (uncompressed side of turbo) hits the engine mount, more minor grinding to get it to fit.

Hey, it's funny, I read your post and I'm in a very similar boat. I pulled my engine apart a couple of years ago, in the process of putting it back together now. I also have the AMS manifolds and the GT600 turbo kit, however I've got the silicone oil drain hoses, so that's a bonus.

With your wastegate issue, have you thought about spinning the compressor housing? The wastegate is bolted to the compressor from memory, so if you rotate the housing, it will also move the wastegate with is, possible increasing your clearance issues.

The silicon/rubber coupling that connects the compressor to the hard pipes will have the same internal diameter as the outer diameter of the compressor outlets, so you could measure those and check.

Keep us posted on how you go.

Glen have you used metal turbo/manifold gaskets?? it looks like you just glued them together with gasket goo??

    Sure did

I have gaskets coming out of my ears, bought a gasket kit got mani/turbo gaskets, bought AMS manifolds got more gaskets, bought GT600R turbos more gaskets, had the choice of many which made a nice change.

I used the gasket that came with the AMS Manifolds (not from the Nissan gasket kit) I used the COZ ones for the turbos. The goo is Copper Maxx
