Hey guys. Wanted to upgrade the brakes mainly for looks so the big 324mm front disc and 290mm rear disc, just wondering the best and most affective way to do this?? Would love to go drilled and slotted. Regards Matthew
well your rears are already 296mm so you don't need to do anything to them. if you want 324mm rotors on the cheap, caliper adapters.
Steer well clear of cross-drilled rotors(too many horror stories of hairline cracks). I'm using DBA "Kangaroo Paw" 324mm fronts(with the "Dogbone" caliper adapters)and stock calipers, with 18" rims. No problems in the past 4 years.
I remember seeing the Kangaroo paw design for sale at Supercheap years ago. Did you notice a big effect in brake cooling and performance? Seem like an interesting design.
It makes for a stronger disc and they aren't directional like other vane type cooling. I beleive this is an exclusive design for DBA.
Nick is correct on both counts. I haven't experienced any "downside" whilst using these discs/rotors, so would have no qualms in recommending them to anyone who is considering disc/rotor replacement.
