This probably doesn't matter but Nissan wont look at my car since it's imported:confused: But just call up and ask Nissan

Just go in and tell them what you want, they'll look it up on their parts list or find the part number yourself and tell them.

There is supposed to be the code for the key on the barrel in the drivers door.
A good locksmith can cut a new master from this code.

Just out of curiousity do you know how many digits this number should be? Reason I ask is my adm model has a little sticker in the glovebox that says 'ignition barrel no.' and door barrel no' and beside the first one there's a 4 digit number written there.

Doesn't that make it really easy to jack a car? slip a coathanger down the window sill to unlock it, pull out the trim to check the code then leg it to a key cutter and have them cut you your own key?

Well yeah, but it's a lot of mucking about. Easier just to hotwire it and break the wheel lock while you are already there :p And that doesn't get around an immobiliser if fitted.

really dont want to discuss it openly, but what i can say is that it can be done quite easily thats why you should have an aftermarket alarm with an immobiliser...also there is an easier way to get a key cut without that number too...found out when i snapped my key on my old zed

The RACV should be able to cut a new key for you from scratch. Friend got one recently for a Magna $285

If you have the key number get a blank and a good locksmith will do it for <$15.
