Ok..... is there any trick to disconnecting the sun sensor from the dash? As in disconnecting the harness plug? Been at this thing for fifteen minutes now and it doesn't want to play.... and I don't want to break it!

Any ideas? Is it just a case of push down and pull?

Also mods if you are reading it might be worth adding "sun" to three word search list

I've never had too much trouble. Get that silly foam around the plug off and it should be clear.

I've thought about that, but I'm assuming the foam is there for a reason.... keeping heat out of the plug? But yes very, very tempted

To stop it rattling I would assume.

I've always pulled the foam off.

It looks like pretty generic packing foam to me so if it really bothered you you could always re-wrap it in some new foam. My foam was glued on so I had to take it off before I could undo the connector.

What sun sensor? The thing in the dash vent? If so they have always been tuff to unclip but a small screwdriver to press the clip down while pulling works...

'Reads' the amount of sun hitting the dash so the climate control can adjust for it.

Nah just peel back the foam and unplug it. The foam is just there so it doesnt rattle.

    +1.

Just pull a bit of bubblewrap out of a $1 postbag and re-wrap it when done.

    Took your advice.

Foam off, plug disconnected, caulking gun broken... I don't think it liked trying to pump sika through vac line.

There's never an "easy way" hey

Worth it. On my NA I pulled the dash to change the heater core out, and fixed the dash lift in the process. Very worth doing. :)
