Below is a few pics showing the same kit that car has. The first 2 are the same style as mine but the 3rd pic shows a different veilside kit, just to clear that up. Will post a few pics soon as I get it home tomorrow if it's not too dark. Over 6 hr round trip to get it plus the time it takes to sort the sale details out & have a bite to eat haha

I personally think the kit in 3rd pick is over the top, unless that's your thing?

Hmmmmm............yeah there's your problem. The reason people hate the veilside kits so much is that they really detract from the nice clean lines of this beautiful car. Great big fins and bits sticking out everywhere are a bit 15 year old boy design. But hey look, as I said before a few people like them and if your happy that's all that counts.

oh yeah only the 3rd pic is way over the top, the 1st too have perfectly smooth natural lines that follow the contuers of the car.
that is, if your into the catfish look

Well guys. Veilside aside haha I'm very impressed with the first drive. 3hrs to get her home & she purred like a kitten. I couldn't fault anything in the handling department. Nice & tight. Smooth, nice engine rumble. Definitely needs a good tune though. Been sitting for 4 months. The auto is the only thing that may need attention. Bit slow to change up gears. Very responsive too but bit ordinary past the mid-range.

Anyway, first impressions are very high. She's had a recent respray too & onlt the bonnet needs attention due to bubbles (silicone/armorall prob it looks like). Straight body & very clean interior. The veilside is plastic too not f/glass so it's light & less likely to dent the guards. That is a plus to me. Also, the car hasn't been lowered so even with the kit, it still doesn't scrape. Took it through a parking lot with dips & stuff & it never bottomed out. Phew

Pics tomorrow after lunch when I get home.

    Cheers guys!

Got the RWC check today. Mechanic said it was an excellent example. Things that need to be repaired are:

Left hand front inner guard catching on tyre so needs sorting out
    Trans mount replaced
Bolts missing from rear cross member
The HID & assoc' bulbs replaced (I've removed kit myself & only have to replace bulbs)

    That's it!

I couldn't be stuffed getting under the car this week & want it on the road ASAP so it's off to shop Thurs for repair & RWC final tick. The shop is pretty reasonable with quote too. Will make a booking @ VIC ROADS in the morning :zlove:

Geez, yours looks low in that sig' pic  Yeah, poor kit has certainly met with distaste here & especially OS from members. One called it a silver catfish haha. :D Definitely not liked in the US but I think it'll be a little toned down with the rear wing removed......

    Welcome

Welcome Tim, Just a quick question that looks a lot like a old forum members car Altered State.. Do you know if the owner before last's name was Dave? If so it was a good looked after car.

Hope to see you on a cruise in the near future...

    Cheers Bryan

Apparently an older guy by the name of Dave located @ Lysterfield, had it on club plates? Rego was XBB984. Doesn't sound like club plates but receipts for previous work state this rego number. Yeah you can tell it was well looked after. Young guy bought it off Dave at end of last year & never put it back on road.

Thanks for confirmation that it was looked after. Nice to know

    The wings off

Here's a quick few pics with wing removed. It did mark the smaller wing that sat under the huge one. Just taped up the bolt holes @ side for now.

Looks a little weird but I feel better :D

Since found out it has an aftermarket trans cooler after noticing the oil lines on the radiator are not connected & also a huge fan or the orig' one has been converted to manual operation via a toggle switch under steering column.

Thanks. Well I'd need a good silver front bar & hopefully the paint is OK when I remove skirts. For now though I want to tidy up sound system, replace some worn hoses & it needs either a good tune & whatever else as it's running rich as.......kit will be the last thing I'll worry about.

fook me........did the code test. Thanks btw to the Zed library

3 codes come up. Aint I lucky :D

13; 34; 42  Needless to say the car runs like shat. Richer than Midas!

I figured it was the CTS, perhaps the det S but fuel S I wasn't thinking. Again, after contemplating these bloody sensors playin up, no wonder it's running like a shag................

So, here goes the friggin around. Local elec' wants $65 for the CTS. I read in a post that I can't find now a good Zed parts shop? Anyone suggest? I'm in lower VIC. Mornington Peninsula. There is a Nissan dealer @ Mornington but I hate these dealerships generally as they're rip offs.

Also, finished the sound system install. The sub mono amp had internal probs so had to buy a newy. Got a decent Response 1000WRMS monoblock at fairly good price (reduced). Came with remote adjustable gain control. You can just adjust it without touching the HU or amps. Cool as!

Sounds like either your sensors are shagged, or there is a break in your wiring harness. Also check for severe corrosion under each of the plugs.

Thanks mate. The det sensor plug & wires have been frigged with & left disconnected by previous owner. It has the resistor joined to the det plug but I thought this was just to check it? You still have to wire in the bypass wires don't you?
