Hey guys just wanted to introduce myself here. I just bought my 300zx about a week ago so far it has been bittersweet owning it thanks to the dodgy person i bought it from. I was led to believe that the car was in good running condition and nothing was wrong with it took it for a test run everything was fine so i bought it wen me n my cousin picked it up to take it home (about 35min drive) found that the radiator had a crack in the top tank that had been puttied up and painted black to make it not noticeable it held for the test run but not the drive home which i think was the idea. I was furious i rang up the guy and told him what had happened he denied any knowledge of it so i said he either pays for it to be repaired or i want all my money back and he can take the car back and if he was not willing to do either he could keep the $1200 in cash id cancel the rest which was in a cheque and id keep the car anyway i got $350 back and have just put a brand new radiator in. Couple days later i took it to my cousins work for a roadworthy and now i need a new Rack and pinion and 1 new Tyre lol which is going to come out of my pocket this time but i am determined to keep this car as iv always wanted one since i was a lil kid. Anyway that's my story of how i became a proud 300zx owner. Yeh i had the same sorta thing happen to me (oh yer, its a good buy and now 3 alternators later i find out my PS pump was breaking everything lol) but this is a car well worth holding onto. Keep in touch with this forum and you will find cheap parts and good mechanical advice. Welcome to the club.
Welcome to the madness. Another Zed in the west ! Seems like all the cars over there are Zeds You'll have that time where you are fixing bad maintenance of previous owners, but the cars are worth the effort.

how much did you pick it up for? i believe this is the one i went to see was advertised for 5.5k? but they had some black rims on there.
Yer was advertised for 5.5k on carsales but in the end i paid all up 4.9k for it after i got 350 back for the busted radiator. idk about the black rims tho whats on it is all i seen it with lol

welcome to the forum good to see a new member join with a passion for the zx, you wont be sorry you joined the z community it is a strong one. you will get plenty of good advice on this forum, as long as you did not pay over the top for it, and the body is sound and in good shape, along with the interior the rest can be sorted over time. just take it the right people that know these cars or you could be ripped off. this is were the forum will come in handy for you. cheers bigmax.
