I have for Sale a Z32 TT Motor
It was originally built for the Sureflow DriftZed.
It has Forged Pistons, H beam Rods, Block Decked, Heads Modified for better Coolant and Oil Flow, Reground Cams, Reusable Head Gaskets, After Market timing Gears and Tensioners etc. everything new.
Was running in on dyno when damaged a Piston and was pulled apart. they then decided to go with the LS1 and abandoned this Motor.
They tell me theres 10 grand plus in this motor.
the Engine Number has been Ground off.
Missing Rocker covers and Plenum. No Turbos
    New water pump etc
comes with a box of parts.
Was to go in my Zed but have to sell it as well due to buying a truck for work.
    $2000.00
In Newcastle, will post pictures tonight.

They told me it happens when the Block is decked. The Sureflow Guys are a large business I picked it up from their workshop ( Sureflow Exhausts ) at Ingleburn. I dont think it would be bodgey, But if you dont like it, dont buy it!!!

If the engine number is missing, it would have gone during machining as we didn't remove it. The engine is legit and the car was a Jap import and the engine was the genuine engine.

It had standard cams when we sold it, but it had the adjustable cam gears and pulleys. The heads had better valve springs and apart from being serviced/shaved were standard.

I was screwed by the guy who built it and tuned it (Toda Racing), and it appears to have run lean. All of the forged pistons had signs of detonation and part of the ring broke off and bounced around causing damage to the piston and the ring, and then passed through the brand new Garrett BB Turbo and destroyed it as well. The other turbo over spun and it was screwed as well.

The head required shaving as well as bowl work, but there was not much meat left on it due to having to be serviced twice before due to head gasket failures.

The problem happened at the track in practise. It developed a knock, so we put it on the trailer. Therefore main bearings, etc would have to be replaced. I doubt you can buy 1 piston, and the others show signs of detonation, so they would no longer be balanced, so a new set of pistons would be needed, but the forged rods would be fine.

The cometic head gaskets are worth around $650/set new from memory. The pulleys and valve springs came from JP at Unique so you know how expensive they are. From memory, it also had a kevlar belt.

The engine made it to the track twice, WA & SA yet did not make it to a race. It always developed problems in practise and did not compete.

We sold it cheap as parts as it was basically start again, and we included a spare short motor at the time.

    I hope this helps

    Cheers

Its still illegal to have an engine without a Engine No, even in a track/race car. I had to get my race engine restamped by an authorised person after having it decked. I guess this is because the engine could have been stolen, having the engine No makes it traceable.

    BLACK BEAST SLICKTOP TT R-SPEC

so its not a "race motor" ..

just has forged bottom end (which needs rebuilding)
    better valve springs
    metal headgaskets

    everything else is stock? (heads)

My appoligies regarding the Cams, they look different to the ones in my stock Engine and a Mechanic Friend said the looked reground, The Heads have larger passages than my stock Heads so again I have followed what I was told. We used the Spare bottom end to rebuild my stock VG and was going to rebuild the other Engine as money allowed. I have another block with an engine number.

There's some trick parts on this motor. The timing setup and heads would easily pay for themselves for someones big HP rebuild.

Heck, the new cost of modified timing belt tensioners and adjustable cam sprockets make up 75% of the asking price (if not more ), not to mention the cost in machining and assembly already in the motor. For a few grand in repairs, this will be a killer build, and still put someone in front of the 8-ball in costs.

Question. How would one go to register the Zed this engine gets put into? You have to supply the Engine Number for that...

You would have to apply for a new Engine Number from the RTA or put it all in a Block with an Engine number, which is what I was going to do. I have one to go with it.

Sounds like a risky buy for just a few parts. I bought a sparer like this once dude spent 30000 on it but running it lean dose a lot of damage.
