Alright the problem i have at hand really is..

I'm driving along from my drive way.. and as you go to put your accelerator down.. it sounds like its shuttering a bit from the back wheels or something? Then when you change gears and do the same thing it just continues like so.. I've heard that it could possibly be the lsd having problems? When i bought the car.. it did have bald tyres so thats what first came to mind.. But is their anything else that could make a slight shutter hence on the accelerator flat foot? (Btw nothing to do with fuel etc as we have fixed up lines etc.. so seems like something in the rear) Any advice or help is appreciated, thanks.

i would think misfire.. but it seems like you said its from the rear..

is it only during takeoff? or is it always there...

the Diffs of the zeds are really strong and it is very rare to find a zed with a worn out diff..

if its always there.. the driveshaft bearing?

It's called wheel hop, usually cased by worn rear shocks and/or diff bushings

yeah its hard to explain.. but basically you notice the shutter alot in first gear.. and not so much in the other gears.. don't know if its misfiring or not.. cause i can stop and sit on idle instantly and won't go up or down on the rpm gauge.. and no signs of wear. If it was misfiring it would be something easier to resolve then something related to the diff or suspension.. Another thing is we noticed a squeeking noise as we go over bumps.. so it could be suspension or diff related i guess but wouldn't know where to start?

Are you sure it's the wheels or suspension bouncing around at the back? It sounds like a symptom of a worn centre bearing to me... Give a shudder/vibration usually in 1st gear and mainly when taking off or accelerating hard.

    Something to look into perhaps.

yeah what you said benny is what the symptoms are and feels like.. usually under it.. or in first gear.. so if i was to check/replace the centre bearing.. possibly will eliminate the shutter etc?

if it's a worn centre bearing, then yes that should cure it. look on Ebay for them, they're around the $100 mark for a new replacement one.
    Linky-Poo!! :D

You can replace it yourself aswell if you're handy with tools. Otherwise you may only need to pay a mechanic for an hour or two's labour to fit it for you (depending on how quick they are).

I would inspect your centre bearing, classic symptoms for it being worn.

Getting the flange off the driveshaft to get the bearing off is quite difficult. Large nut that is staked in position. Make sure you matchmark the flange to the shaft ;)

I took my driveshaft to driveline services and got them to supply and fit the bearing.
