getting organised for next Saturday's bash, so my creepy crawly karks it on Friday .. not a big one and a quick $100 fix i could have done without ...

thought last night that i should give the pool light and the spa pool light a check .... the pool light not working and the spa light gives up the ghost after 30 minutes ... wtf ...???!!!

fuses in control boxes checked out OK. as i had not replaced the globes for several years i reckoned that was the issue ... off to the pool shop and $55 later i had a pair of globes ....

braved the bloody cold pool water, removed each light to find not only blown globes but also the mains wiring to each light/globe connector completely eaten through with bad corrosion ... one connector could be cactus and only $45 to replace .. schisen ...

YEP .. just like a bloody ZED ... corroded connectors, means NO GO .. !!!!

just another damn job to distract me tomorrow ... and each connector will be whacked with heaps of INNOX and DIELECTRIC grease !!!

 

Shame about the last minute fixes baz, but glad to see you're applying some of your Zed related tech knowledge to your domestic duties too. :zlove:

 

and Benny, are you going to sell me those crappy wheels on Saturday???

 

Al will be there Baz and i will come and join in all the fun and games once i finish work that night.

what was to be a fun celebration of birthdays and an anniversary if now tinged with sadness ... however, the show will go on ... !!!!!

things are rolling along with 5 kilos of pork spare ribs diced and 5 kilos of prime rump sliced tonight ... the Manila pork casserole and a great Beef Stoganoff will hit the oven tomorrow night .. all complemented by Ocean King Prawns, Green Lip Mussels and thank God for Tassie Coffin Bay oysters (local Tweed oysters have gone under with the floods .. !!)

hopefully the night will serve to raise our spirits a bit ...

P.S./edit ...Mia, just saw your post after posting up this ... yes, beautiful baby, we will save some goodies for you and big Al ... !!!

hey Baz, my dad has been stranded with me due to the floods. As much as he would rather be at home with Mum in Toowoomba, his face lit up when I told him the menu you are having on offer tomorrow night. Is it ok to bring him along if he is still here??

Baz, wife & I should still be there. My son, myself & a couple of his mates are going to AZA's tomorrow to help clean-up & we have also registered as volunteers in Brissy & Ipswich so if we get called in things may change.

...i've just got to find a way of getting there from Toowoomba now..
I understand the only way there would be to drive to Warwick, then to brisbane via Cunninghams Gap, through Boonah, beaudesert, browns plains, then to GC from there. Hmm, will be about a 4hr drive there but i'm up for it.

btw, the Blue Beast's all cleaned up inside and out, spick and span and running perfect once again after being flooded! Looking forward to the drive actually. :zlove:

if the cunningham highway is open to warick when you come down. then follow that up to ipswich. then down the logan and onto the m1.
