    Hey guys,

I've looked at the circuit diagram and can't figure this out. Does the power antenna signal (B/R) which runs from the radio to the power antenna timer require a +12V or a ground signal. I'm trying to make it work automatically with my DVD player and I was thinking maybe it's sending the wrong signal. I've checked the signal that the radio is sending out and it is +12V. I'm fairly sure it use to work with my old CD player, but that was a while ago.

Also, is there a half-mast option on the Z32? I know there was on my old Z31.

I had a quick search and couldn't find the answer.

    Thanks

I've checked the power and I'm getting signal into the power antenna timer, but not out from there to the antenna.

I've checked the antenna and it works fine with 12V straight into it.

I'm fairly sure this means that the timer is broken.

I'm now going to just install a switch so I can control how far up and down it goes rather than using the timer.

yes the antenna trigger from the stereo shoud be +12v switched.

i would be checking the module at the back, some of those modules can be prone to dry solder joints, unclip the cover and have a look.
    or check fuses.

whats wrong with it? just not going up?

Thanks, I figured out it was the timer box at the back. I ended up just wiring in a new switch so I can control exactly how far up it goes as I prefer it half-way up.

I pulled out the box, but haven't opened it up yet.

There is also a fair whack of a delay from that timer thingo.

The top section of what looks like our rear window demister is an antenna.
    Have you tried it?

There is a thread about the rear glass antenna.
If you have two tuners and the head unit requures two signal antenna then you probably need to use it.
You might find it useful to check if Jaycar has a suitable plug for it or if they have an antenna splitter.
The rear glass antenna suggestion is an alternative pathway, it won't help you solve the antenna up/down problem.

i will look into this wind screen option and if i can get reception with out the antenna i will have it removed and the rear hole filled
