Looking to get the car tuned finally and have been doing quite a bit of research into it getting prices, seeing peoples throughts on the carious tuning shops and I have come across a guy called Toshi who doing reprogramming of your ECU for $500. or $450 for a power FC. I spoke with him...his english is not that great (he iss a hardcore jap dude) Reviews from people that have got tuning from him were outstanding and this guy seems to know his shit from what ppl are saying and being Japanese he has great pride in what he does. One guy got a tune with Unigroup and got 183kw final result and decided a few months later he would take it to Toshi and he netted 203kw with no other mods....overall he said the difference was amazing between unigroup and Toshi's....has anyone heard of this guy? ...he can do both road and dyno..however speaking with him he thinks Road tuning is far better and will net me better results... I have seen him do a group buy thing on the tuning before reading through some posts. Would there be any interest in this???? I think $500 is a cracker of a price and his reputation seems very solid....BTW he is Sydney based.
I dont think many people will go for that to be honest, 500 is not a great price for tuning a stock ECU, ive done alot of stock ECU tunign for brisbane customers and my price is half that. For 500 you'd really want to be getting Nistune installed as its a better way to go
I guess as the saying goes if that is indeed expensive you get what you pay for. From the 1000-1500 quotes i got from other places its a hell of a lot cheaper and people have said nothing but great things about Toshi....where as it seems to be hit and miss with many of the other reputable places in Sydney
I'm curious on this... still running the pig rich stock Nistune map. Getting veeery pissed off with it lately. Where abouts in Sydney mate? MoulaZX
he does it at Hornsby i think...I am in the same boat mate....bullshit fuel economy and runs so rich.... for the $500 and i think we can get this down....you would save that in fuel very quickly......if you can drive sensibly after the tune :br:
I think his name is pronounced Tuckie, not toshi. He has a website called perfectrun.jp. If this is the guy your talking about, he is very good at what he does. Highly recommend.
No no its Toshi....he is Jap and is a private tuner....he is some crazy jap tuner that has come here and will just tune cars for ppl. He has no workshop. He either street tunes it or hires a dyno @80 P/hr and does the tuning for you. You can pay a little extra and get both dyno and street tune. He thinks the street tune is all i will need and better than a straight Dyno tune as it simulates real world load and performance on the road.
http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/fo...and-over-seas-also-abailable-now/page__st__60 This is the thread among many others i have found on him...he also states that if you are not happy with the performance there is no charge...i like ppl that back there work like this!
toshi's been tuning skylines for years now, he uses a daughterboard and tunes using nistune software.
LOL i was wondering if someone would pull the racist card....i work in recruitment and there are alot of Japanese people in IT and know that they always do their work of the highest quality...its a cultural thing...no complaints they make awesome shit! What have you guys heard of him....he says he has done quite a few 300zx before but you are right the bulk are skylines... tuning is tuning though
Not at all! The Japanese culture is based on the desire to excel at everything one attempts. This can be seen in everything from Flower Arranging to World Domination(War-craft). It's not by accident that we find ourselves drowning in a sea of Japanese products(products that not only do what is intended of them, but also look beautiful as well). Nothing Racist about that!:zlove::zlove:
Every race and culture has it's difference...why can't it be used to describe a positive trait? The "racism-witch-hunt" is f*cking out of control.
Well like I said, I'm still interested. I was very close to giving up and just getting Mark at MRC to do it about a month ago, and that was at something like $300 p/h from memory and was told it'd take probably 2 hours... MoulaZX
