I prefer the 2+2, targas off for summer, you can carry an extra person or two, very handy. And the amount you can fit in the boot when you have the seats folded down is insane. The 2+0 is much like a B747SP, sure it looks cool, but the stubby ass doesn't seem to compliment the flow of the car.

2 seaters are good for girlfriends - theres just enough room in the back if you dont have a rear strut bar
2+2 are good for your mates and showing off.

Seriously - do what I did
    Buy Both! LOL

    OR -

Do you like the fuel tank cover behind the rear wheels or in front[TIS]

I've owned a 2+2 zed, and I think it's good to have a bit more space for the baggage. Fold the seat and will make more space. And it's because I had it as a daily, I chose the 2+2 for bit more convenienc. For example if your gf and her friend needs a lift somewhere at the last minute, you can take them there, the back seat is very tight but you can at least give them a lift still :) So I just thought of those "Just in case" situation.

But if I was to buy a zed again, I would go 2+0 for weekender. I haven't owned a 2+0 so I want to try something different. Also 2+0 will be lighter than 2+2.

As many people said before, my ultimate zed would be black, red or white slicktop 5 speed twin turbo :)

    Correct me if I'm wrong....

    1. 2+2 Auto Targa - Heaviest
    2. 2+2 Manual Targa
    3. 2+0 Auto Targa
    4. 2+0 Manual Targa
    5. 2+0 Manual Slicktop - Lightest

And ofcorse there are difference in weight for TT and NA.

    Hope this helps.

I had the option of both. Never like two seater cars and the 4 seater shape is more appealing to me. And a zed is not a zed without targas! :p

I guess after all these comments you're none the wiser. Much like the rest of the 2+0 v 2+2 threads ;)

i like the shape of the 2 seater much better , a 2 set slick top is lighter ,stiffer and handles better for what almost all do with our cars . The whole 2+2 handle better only came about because of a few race cars that have gone with the longer wheel base but this is only because of the very high speeds they are going .

    Anti 14.7 x 14.7 = 44.1

fair enough! And when I join, it'll be 2+2 :) with black on black as well. It's on!

    2+2 for me....

Many say the 2+0 is more nimble around the tight stuff.... due to its shorter wheel base...

a bit more skittery around high speed corners, and they get a bit squirrelling drifting, if thats your thing....

i prefer the 2+2 for the better weight balance. almost a perfet 50/50, it's a bit more stable i found, not as nimble at low speed around town, but mine is primarily for whipping around the twisties on the weekend along the coast. up through forrests etc.

i'd advise driving both and see which suits your driving style more...

dont even consider the fact it has 2 more seats in the back unless you pick up short very skinny girls.... models is a no go legs are too long....

my rear seats are going to have a half cage, id still rather the 2+2 with no back seats and a cage than a 2+0 with a half cage as well...

its personal preferance really and everybodys driving style is different, think about your primary use of the vehicle etc... your question should answer itself.

as much as i love the slicktop look.... dahamn i love my targa's....

and so do the girly's ....

and one criteria of my new car was it had to have a fully sliding back or removable sunroof....

as i said in earlier post, it's all personal preferance really just gotta drive them and decide for yourself....

This may surprise some of u but I am a girl. So picking up long-legged models isn't on my priority. But thank you for your help. I think it's gonna be the 4 seat. BUT none are for sale in qld so I am gonna be going on a roadtrip to NSW.

I think it would probably end up as a drift car for me cause thats just heaps of fun. So response I'm getting is 4 seat would be best?

Zeds come in all shapes and sizes. This is a good thing as it provides us enthusiasts with more contrast between our cars therefore we feel as though we are more "unique". I for one like this reality and I have a fondness for all Zeds. One is not better than the other IMO because it has more/less seats or a slick/targa roof. The fact of the matter is that there are far more imporant merits you should be basing your decision on such as the vehical's owner and service history, condition of the car, upgrades, mods etc.
If you limit your decision to only 2seater hard tops for example, then you may find your limiting your ability to get the best value for your money. Look at as many as you can, there are so many great Zed's out there!

If you want a real drift car, as someone else said, get a Silvia or an R32 GTS-t.
Either way I know for a fact 2-seaters have a very controllable drift even with the stock VLSD, and Rod will tell you that 4-seaters slide well too :p
If you're going to turn it into a drift car then you'll get a 2way anyway and it wouldn't really matter which model you get...

Please go buy a silvia or skyline or cefiro or something...

please resist the urge to drift destroy a z32... the engine is not suited for it unless you spend alot of money.

parker Been around for a bit

    I got the 2 seater

And as much as it hurts me to say I think the 2 + 2 is a prettier car. Reason for not getting one though was the extra weight. I think it's about 70kg or something. Too many horsepowers required to compensate.

And as most say you gotta be able to take the roof off. It's what makes us look so good compared to the skylines and most of the supras. No matter which one you buy you really can't go wrong. They all look great if well presented
