Comments:This car has never been treated harshly. Its first Owners were a couple in their mid 50's who owned and operated 4 child care facilities in Nth Qld. They purchased the car as a tax benefit and subsequently upgraded it a few years ago to a new Nissan 350.

The second owner was an interstate transport operator (aged 47) who spent so much time on interstate haulage runs, he seldom had time to experience its pleasure. It is from he that I purchased the car just on 2 years ago at aged 60. At the time, the car had 77,500 genuine Km on the clock and was fully serviced by Nissan Dealerships.

Today, the car has 83,000 km on the clock. You need only look at the interior carpets, leather steering wheel and seats to see this car still looks like new. I also did not have the time to enjoy the car. Its longest trip was to Cairns (from Townsville) a few weks ago. The previous owner took it to Brisbane ONCE.

My only reason for selling the car is that I have a lower back condition and find it extremely hard to climb out of the car. (I fall into it easy enough)
To make matters worse, my girlfriend (I'm divorced) is a little too conservative and does not like the attention and stares we get when out driving so we go out in my Mercedes Vito 108CDI van or her Mazda 3. (not a great thrill, believe me)

This car drives like a dream and even at 100KPH, there is absolutely NO vibration in the steering wheel.

As I am not computer literate and don't know how to transfer digital photos from my camera to this site, I can't give you a photo but if you know anything about these cars, you will be amazed and surprised as to how good a condition this car is. A test drive will flaw you even more.

I am selling the car for $16,500. If I sold it for more than this, I would have to pay Capitol Gains Tax (business car). I am not a car buff but everyone tells me this is an exceptionally well maintained car.

Hi Peter, sounds like you have a good car there. If the car is as goods as it sounds you should find some interest. The market for these cars is not what it used to be however, and to have the best chance of selling you will need to get a friend to help you get some photos up on here. It is hard to find these cars in good condition now. With some photos you are likely to attract interstate buyers so your market will be a lot bigger. Also members buying on this forum hold maintenance history in high regard, if you can give details of the cars servicing and any work carried out it will also help you to get a high price. All the best with the sale and be patient, these cars can take a while to move these days unless sold at a lower than real value price.

This is a question to forum members. I think it may be helpful to the seller as well as potential buyers, clearly this add hasn't had any interest.

I am in the market for a z and don't think any na can possibly fetch $16,500. So if I were to make him an offer what would be a fair, realistic price? I realise it depends on how quickly he wants it sold but should it be closer to $8k, $10k or 12k? Have there been any similar cars sold recently? What factors make it worth more/less. As I see it being an auto is a negative...

If it is an exceptionally well maintained '95 Anniversary, then it is worth every cent of the asking price. Auto is irrelevant to any potential buyer, who, at that price, will see it for its investment potential, and not a late model NA Auto.
Sorry to put it bluntly, but dont be dilluded into thinking that 300zx's are worthless, as indicated in your wanted post. True, you'll get a POS for under $5000, but it will either cost you twice that to get it to above good condition... or you'll get less than half that when you sell in disbelief over your repair bill when it falls apart.

    BigCol That's what she said...

This whole "don't think any na can possibly fetch x dollars" is complete rubbish. And for what it's worth the point is no different for TT's either.

Price is down to a number of factors.

1/ Quality. This will always affect price the most. A good car will always command a good price. And this goes for engine, interior and exterior. Does not have to be stock, but must be done well.

2/ Rareness. As time goes on special models such as the 25th anniversary will become more valuable. Especially the ones that have not been messed up by muppets who think that the body kit and wheels need to be replaced. And age makes a big difference. Newer cars always are worth more.

3/ What the buyer is willing to pay. For all you know the item in question might be exactly what the buyer is looking for, and therefore the price is justified.

For what it's worth, if the car in question was mine and you offered 8k, you'd get a swift kick up the ass. Just because you think that an NA car with auto transmission is a negative doesn't mean that everyone does. I'd pay for a mint (ie less than 10000km) original NA zed. Just something to think about...

Ok. Seems to me that it hasn't had any interest, s'pose it's a small market... Ur right I thought the main positive would be the low kms and the fact that it's younger than most. So you think it's worth up around $16,500? And mate I only made that wanted add to find a short term run around, Not something to have as a project and I soon after gave up on the idea. I'm looking for a car for around 10k ;)... might end up waiting a year till I'm on opens, I'm well aware that zeds arn't cheap in any sense of the word and have been made aware that it's worth buying something that's been taken care of :zlove:. This isn't about me though. Thanks for the advise. Gl to the seller hope he gets what it's worth.

I say "hang in there champ!" I sold a Z which I can assure you wasn't as good or as sort after as yours - I sold it for more than you're asking & not very long ago. Lots of guys will try to nick it off you, that's just business... but if you're not in a rush & don't listen to some who'll BS you - you'll get your price. And if you DO cave-in & decide you'll take $10k for it - PM me - I'll happily drive it till I resell it for $16,500 - no problem at all.

IMHO the car is by all means worth what he's asking for it if it's in the kind of condition you would expect it to be. Also, being a 95 model and an aus spec you can be almost certain the kms are genuine. You also have to remember that this is one of now less than 40 genuine 4 seater stillen 300zx's in the world.

Not to be rude, but if you want a cheap 300zx then buy a cheap 300zx. You really do get what you paid for. I don't even want to think about how much I've spent on my na (or still want to spend) but on the flip side of that I have a really nice, low km Zed that I'm proud to own and often get comments on how tidy and well maintained it is.

Back ot, good luck to the seller. If you can't upload photos feel free to email them to me and I can post them up for you :)

Just out of curiousity, what do you think an aus spec with less than 100thou would realistically be worth?

that answers my question thanks. I am lookin for a daily/ long term project so i don't look at it as an investment hense I didn't see y it would be so expensive. Thanks... Although the second part... I don't think zed's are worthless :(

Sorry mate wasnt meaning that in a bad way or anything, was actually directing the question more towards BigCol as I'm curious more than anything.

$10k should get you a fair Zed, although remember to factor in rego, insurance, 200k service and a plenum pull. They can sure bite hard as I've found out the hard way.

    yep...

totally agree.... if I was to buy a 3rd zed I would happily pay top dollar for the car if it was in excellent nic, regardless whether it was NA or TT. I dont judge the quality of the car based on how much power it makes.

I saw this z for sale on the side of the road and went to check it out just as the OP was hopping in it to drive off!

I told him about aus300zx and told him to stick it on here to get more interest.

The car is in great condition from what I saw and worth the asking price and then some.

If anyone is genuinely interested I would be happy to meet up with the OP and have a closer inspection and take pictures.

    Good luck with the sale,

    Adam
