QLD CONFIRMED Brisbane Cruise - 21st November

Alrighty guys here is the plan for the Four Mountains Cruise!

Date has been set for the 21st November - this was the date that the most people could attend.

Round trip is approximately 200km so please come with a full tank of fuel so we don't have to make any unnecessary stops. There is a BP about 200m before the meet point for convenience.

• Meet at 9am at Glenaffric St (off waterworks rd), The Gap. Parking behind the Medical centre.
• 9.30 departure prompt - Don't be late.
• 1st section - Drive over Mt Nebo and Mt Glorious (1 hour)
• 15 min Stop at the bottom of Mt Glorious in White Ceddar Park to regroup. Quick stretch of legs, toilet stop, photo opportunity
• 10:45 depart for 2nd section - through Northbrook Parkway, Wivenhoe Sommerset Rd, Esk, Kilcoy Rd (1/2 hour)
• 15 min stop at Sommerset camping ground for quick photo opportunity
• 11.30 departure for 3rd section - Sommerset Dam through to Kilcoy, Nerum Rd exit (45 mins)
• 12.15pm stop for lunch at Woongooroo Winery (Doyles rd, off Nerum rd) - A selection of 2-3 meals off their menu $13 - $15 and wine tasting. Orders need to be phoned ahead so we be taking orders before we leave The Gap.
• 1.30pm depart for 4th section - continue along Nerum rd, Daguliar highway, Mt Mee Rd (45 min)
• 15 min stop at top of Mt Mee (opposite Birches Restaurant) for goodbye, stretch legs, photo opportunity
• 2.30pm depart for 5th section - Mt Mee Rd, through Dayboro to Mt Samson Rd, Winn Rd, Clear Mountain Rd, Eatons Crossing Rd (1 hour)
• 3.30 End of Cruise - head for home

We will be on UHF channel 10.

Whoa wait, 6 hours for 200km? Count me out unless the Sunday ride is even more disappointing.

 

Its more like 4 hours once you take out lunch and what not.

We did this run yesterday and it took us 4 hours and we were sitting on the speed limit.... the times are conservative with 5-10 min added here and there to round off to the hour.

I didn't want to say we would be back at 2 and then run into traffic/problems or have longer stops and people be inconvenienced.

It was a great run - so it would be a shame to miss it.

would love to attend this cruise, its been a while since my car has had a good workout, but unfortunately Eric and I have an engagement party the night before and I really don't like our chances of being sober enough to make this one.

THIS CRUISE is looking to be one of the best we have had for a long time thanks to the special efforts of Ash ... great stuff Ash ....

the proposed run through the mountains and Somerset is a combination of past classics and one which we have not done for yonks ... so another big plus there, Ash ...!!!!

i am still hopeful of making this one and am pulling a few favours to make it happen ... here's hoping ....

Any Gold Coasters want to meet up and then travel in convoy to The Gap for the general meet up at 9:00am .... ????

i would suggest a 7:15am meet at BP COOMERA for a 7:30am sharp departure ... that should have us at The Gap around 8:45am ....
