check your policy i would definitely go over your own policy carefully, i know even my third party insurance covers up to about $4000 if im hit by an uninsured driver. god knows we should always try and get money outa these companies we pay so much to cover us
make a police report, and then go and claim it through your insurance. you dont pay the excess, they will do the dirty work. ive been through this with another car and no problems. the girl lives accross the rd from me and always gives me greasies when she sees me lol they must have taken her to court and owned her. meh
It's not illegal... only 3rd party INJURY (nothing to do with the cars) is legally required and included when you pay for your rego.
I thought the 3rd party that is compulsory is only for covering personal injuries caused in an accident? Which is why my dad made me go and get some extortionate bomb insurance when I was still dependent upon my parents in times of disaster
if your policy covers it then get them to sort it out if not send in the debt collectors they will sort her out.
Agreed! As Chad, Tekky & others have suggested already! If you can claim on your insurance then get it fixed properly! Why have all the headaches of you having to fix it with just the material costs covered? What have they done to be let off the hook that easily? You have all her details so your insurance company will fix it no questions, you won't have to pay the excess & you won't lose your no claims bonus! Your insurer will set their own legal team onto them to recoup all the costs! You can just sit back with a nice shiny fixed car & watch them sweat as they get hounded by the debt collectors! They deserve to learn their lesson the hard way!
well if you have her address.......... i drive a tipper....and need a place to dump 12 tons of site rubbish... ????????
Yeah, you can add that onto all the other crap people in the eastern states have to put up with. In WA u don't have to pay to get your car examined every year for terrible hazards like blow-off valves. 3rd party personal injury cover is built into the cost of registration, which totals $445.40 for a year, or you can pay six months at a time if you want. Bomb insurance is optional or you can go without if you prefer to take responsibility for your own actions. Of course it's probably a good idea whilever you're a dependent or if you're otherwise broke.
rooooted.. stupid vicroads(road traffic authority in victoria) keep increasing the rego payments. i believe its around the 550 mark.its going up an average of around 30 odd bucks a year. i like victoria, but the road authority is being real dickheads, and coming up with"its to do with safety". but hey, they just keep rolling on stricter speeding regulations and uping the rego payments, even thou its not effecting the road toll. i kinda think to my self,"hey dicks, why dont you start putting more money into things like drink driving, and drugs, how bout you start concentrating on bad drivers that tailgate, dont indicate, cut people off. you know, instead of trying to increase your profit margin. i mean hell im up for speed restrictions in the right areas, but when you go over by 4 kms per hour or over take a stupid driver who speeds up when you over take and you go 15kms past the speed limit(out of town) and you get stung for speeding - just wrong, hows that saving people." ryan end rant
