Yeap, i left that site after a month because they were a pack of stuck up boring pedantic whiners, with stupid ideas no skill and too much money...

You guys are better for the most part, you just take everything like i'm trying to offend you, just because i have a different opinion, the car scene and the way people are is very different over here different culture completely etc, so it makes it pretty hard to get along with some of you.

this is turning into the nz site a bit, i came here to talk about cars, not talk tripe.

your like a Muslim trying to setup a prayer area smack bang in the middle of the Vatican. When you come to our place, you do as we do or you get out (culture wise)

We are hard to get along with? when you try impose your "different opinions" over us and we say no..we are saying no, not misunderstanding.

im not gonna get into a huge debate and i have no problem with you.

    so chill.

*edit* and can you learn to multi quote rather that double or triple posting, cheers.

Net capped multi quoting being retarded etc.

Do as we do or get out, yeah in an idealistic world...

    Theres something called cultural insensitivity.

The Muslim reference is poor and as a Muslim i find it offensive.

    It's 3am i'm going to bed.

Your joke was in poor taste, i actually am a Muslim so don't insult me like that it's offensive, i can choose the way i live my own lifestyle thanks, don't need lemmings such as yourself telling me to fit in or get out.

Arrrm.... thanks for turning a simple query into a semi-racist s**t fight, fellas. Seriously, I am one of the oldies on this site, and if I wish to modify or customise any of my cars that's for me to decide. I merely asked if anyone had done this mod or knew where parts were attainable... that a bunch of simpletons turned my thread into an Aussie/Kiwi bunfight is deplorable! This is a forum for Zed owners and/or lovers to gain information and additional enjoyment from their interest in Zeds. Please, guys, put your buns down and stop chucking them around!! Let's get this forum back to a co-operative theme where there are no factions, no insults, and no more b/s...!! It ain't hard, just think before you jump in with some anti-crap and respect that opinions can vary.
As for me, I wish I COULD turn my Zed into a Lambo... or a Zonda more preferably... or a Veyron, but if I want to modify my Zed in ANY way that PLEASES ME, I'll do it. What I spend on trying to keep my Zed on the road, after all, is way less than what I'd be paying for one of these exotics both in purchase and maintenance! I read EVO and Car magazines from the UK and one of the Evo contributors has had two clutches fitted in a Murcielago in under 35kms... way too expensive for me, but I do like their doors... :):)

    Agreed.

as for the doors, im a huge lambo fan and its one of the distinguishing features about them. I was also interested in where to get them, not because i have my heart set on them just because im kinda interested. I would love to DIY it (if its even do-able), love the feeling of accomplishment.

So do what you like to your zed, we need more unique things rather than having a car someone else already has. make it personal!

Not everyone sees it my way, Matt, but I've been modifying my Zed for quite a while now... mostly 'cause it's been off the road so often I've enjoyed changing the appearance. Don't know that anyone quite likes what I've done, but...??? It's still an ongoing work in progress but the major issue at present is to re-paint it again - with the body mods. The car has a discreet rear wing (self-made), bonnet vents, side fender vents (cut-down from a 4-vent BMW to a 3-vent with unique separate sidelights, aftermarket headlights with 'angel-eye' lenses (a tricky attempt to simulate Pagani Zonda-style lights... primarily because the Zed and Lambo lights are so similar), twin spots mounted in black mesh each side replacing parking lights, and a Gonzo rear bar with circular rear lenses (not really a-la Ferrari, but individual lenses cut from aftermarket BMW clusters - twin red tail/stops each side, amber indicators and slightly smaller clear (white) reversing lights. There are also small distance/parking sensors fitted front and rear. Still a Zed, still looks like a Zed, still problems like a Zed... but different!! I like it...!! :):)

I have a quality verticla door kit to suit the 300zx. They cost me over $500. The cost of fitting is quite minimal - the real issue I had was with compliance. The door installation needs to be signed-off by a qualified (accredited with DoTransport) mechanical engineer. I found it difficult to find one prepared to sign-off - mutterings of "exposure in the case of an accident". If you stil want them - I'm open to negotiation. Ken
