Hey guys up for sale, is my 1989 twin turbo 300zx, havent own the car long and its already putting me through hell. it has a blown head gasket, as far as i know that is the only real issue with it, but could be others. i have a set of gaskets selling with the car. everything else is stock as a rock. email me or give me a text/call for any info.

I am hoping for a quick sale, but if not i will hold onto it and have it fixxed before trying at a resale.

Not selling this car becuase i dont ove it, but becuase living by myself, only being 18, and already in the red, i cant afford to poor money into it.

    Outline.

Small dint in the drivers side door, was like that when i brought the car.

Some scratches around where to spoiler was, i still have it and it can be refitted with ease

Scratches on the front left hand bumper from the dickhead people who towed it.

17inch Mags, brand, i have no idea, with near new tyres on them.

You have to post a price, as per the forum guidelines.

an '89 2+2 with blown motor is worth a heartbreaking $2500...... $3000 if you are lucky.... $2000 if you're desperate.
Photos dont work, so cant see if any of the bits worth salvaging are in any good condition- taillights, dash items, steering wheel, seats etc etc. This is to assist either yourself, or potential buyers with regards to parting it out.

Surely the car owes you a lot more than that, and appreciating that you're on a budget, you can either:-
    a. Cut your losses and sell.
    b. Put it in cold storage, pull the motor and rebuild yourself over time.
    c. i. Buy a low k's import motor, around $1800 (or occasionally they come up cheap here. Last 1 that i knew of sold for a mere $1100 complete)
ii.Throw a 100k service kit through it- allow $1000 with deletes and bypasses also.
iii. Strip and sell your cactus TT motor- $500 in parts if you're lucky
iv. Decide what to do with the car then.

Again, overall condition of the car will greatly affect whether or not you'll get any kind of return to investment for this option.

Sorry to read its given you so much trouble, and current situation prevents you from returning it to running condition. These truly are an awesome vehicle when running well.

Probably your best/ cheapest/ most reliable option would be to contact Eric/ Drz400y, and get a rebuilt motor from him, then install yourself. Thing with import motors is that you are relying on "low k's" translating to "good condition". They're a SOB to change yourself, but with a decent tool set, car stands/ramps, copious amounts of alcohol and a truckload of patience, its plausible. Do the conversion over time, and incorporate additional workings:-
    EGR and other deletes
New connectors- dont have to exactly go "genuine"
    PTU change and relocate
    Plenum bypasses
EBC- eliminates a surprising amount of vacuum hoses, factory boost solenoids and wiring

Use the forum for both assistance with search and you'll also find that, depending on your location, the offering of beer and sausages will yield fellow spanner monkeys. Members here are all too willing to assist even total strangers.

Be patient and search, and you will be surprised at how much you can actually save, learn about and appreciate the car. The final reward is well worth the effort, and in the end, knowing that it will get you from a-b without the remotest chance of a drama is far more rewarding than how quickly it can get you there ;)

Hmmm I have had much time trying to work out the best path, after sitting down with my mother tonight and her husband, I'm going to cut my losses and sell. It still owes me 4 an a half, but ill take 2500 for it right now. So that's asking price but make an offer

if you already have the head gasket, why don't you print out the tech section artcile 'how to replace the head gasket' MAN UP, buy some tools from super cheap. and do it yourself.

even if you give up half way you'll still get 2.5 for it, and atleast you tried.

everything you need, even the tool list
ask yourself, is 30-40hrs labour of your own time worth $4,500?

Are you sure it's all "stock as a rock"? Looks like single exhaust tips at the back, lots of aftermarket interior bits (gauges, steering wheel, pedals, shift knob, red retrim etc.). Any engine mods?

I may be interested but wanna know what else has been done.

    Cheers.

Hey Markwell, id like to know if you are actually serious about selling this car? Ive heard about this buyer who recently "pulled out"

Could you please confirm the current state of the car for other potential buyers. Does it run????

Also more importantly, how much do you want for this car in plain english please
