+1 just my opinion 2+2 because you can get more than one person in the car if needed and the back seats are good to put stuff on saves you opening the boot, but dont base your decision on what other people think its what you need at the end of the day! I use my zed as a daily soo im always carting mates around ect heyy it mustn't be that bad in the back me and 3 mates drove it 1 1/2 hrs and back to this place we go swimming.
The previous owner of my 2+2 NA reckons he christened it with his girlfriend... he also said the reason he was selling it to me was because it reminded him of his ex too much after they broke up...
The young guy who bought my 2+2 found himself becoming the taxi for all his mates! - everytime I've seen John he's had a Z full with 2 people crammed in the back! If you go the 2+0 option at least you don't need to make any excuses as to why you can't drive all your free loading mates around!
2+0 give u a real intimate feel when driving. and it can be a good thing tho when ur cruisin wit ur mates cause u have to take their car to fit everyone in which means u save on fuel etc ;D
Currently I own 2 slick tops, 3 in total if you include one I've sold. I also own a few 2+2 TT's. I love the lwb compared to the swb. The interior, especially the head clearance to the roof feels larger in the lwb. I found the rear seats useful in many cases and cabin is a lot more roomy. Track wise I've never driven the swb's hard but they are definitely more agile (less stable). If its your second car you can get away with a swb, otherwise 2+2 gets my vote.
When i was looking for my second Z (first was a 2+2) i honestly didnt care either way, the first thing i looked for was condition then price then everything else. The quality level of zeds for sale nowadays is such that you shouldnt dismiss cars because theyre 2 seater or 2+2...
Well a lot of good points here. I've come up with a list of Pro's and Con's for a 2+0, feel free to add to the list/challenge what I've said. Pro's: Slicker looking. Deeper Boot. Ability to get out of being a Deso Lighter. No chance of overloading. Con's: Inability to carry more than one person. More stable.
+1 more. We have 2x 2+0 and ones having to go in lieu of getting a 4 seat, 4 door, economical vehicle. Sometimes life over powers the need for toys. :br:
Looks side of things is personal opinion... personally a 2 seater looks like its been rammed up the ass by a truck... With an NA unless you're looking at a slicktop there really isnt that much difference in weight, not 100 kilos anyway...
I have a TT manual 2+2 ,just lay the back seat down and it becomes a 2+0 with more space,[the NZ'der] Stillan said the 2+2 was a better handler at high speeds than the 2+0 because of the longer wheel base,[not so twitchy].so the only advantage of a 2+0 is slightly lighter and slightly more responsive on winding mountain roads with no back seat female drivers.:stupid::stupid::rofl:
how many 4 seat Lambo's have you ever seen? Thats CAUSE REAL SPORTS CARS HAVE TWO SEATS !! 2 SEATS FTW !!
Thats the exact reason why I prefer the 2+0. I like it tight The backseats aren't too good at all, I rode in the back of Nasty Girl's the other night to the Gold Coast and back. Not very comfy at all... If you want to cart people around buy a 4 door. If you want a sports car buy a 2+0 Z
2+0 pros: slightly lighter fuel tank before rear axle (less pendulum effect) more nimble cons: less stability 55:45 weight distribution 2+2 pros: more stability 53:47 weight distribution cons: larger turning circle slightly heavier more flex? That said, I still prefer the 2+2 - looks wise and characteristics!
I'll 2nd that! Can't agree more! Rather than make a 'pros & cons' list between 2+2 & 2+0, I'd be making make a pros list of what your 'ulitmate Z' should have - if you then find one that ticks most of these boxes then that's the one you buy! :zlove: - you usually have to compromise on something! - unless you want to wait forever! - so if you find an awesome Z & the only thing is that it's 2+0? ..........then BUY IT!
my z has been a long time project since it was sitting at a round about and was hit from behind and jammed between to cars. have spent so much time to get this car back on the road but soon i will be out there with the fellow z members[/IMG]
I've had both and I reckon the 2+0 looks sexier on the inside and the 2+2 looks sexier on the outside. Difference in performance is negligable. Both fitted my bike in the back. 2+2 very occasionally had passengers in the back, so that can be useful (or not depending how you see it). If (when) I get another zed it will probably be a 2+2 for the extra room and sleek exterior look .
2+0 Slicktop Pro's: Don't have to taxi mates around Lightest model Faster by quite a margin compared to other NA's i've been in. Feels better to drive then 2+2's (2+2 feels like a boat compared, Even with a better suspension setup then me) Looks a lot better. Cons: There are none.......i don't give a crap about any problems that someone else might have with my car.
