Thought I would get in on the magnaflow fsbb before it ends and thought it's been a while since I asked a silly question so here we go. Stock na exhaust is 2.25" in diameter all the way through correct? So would it be benificial in any way at all for me to go to a 2.5" system when ordering my parts and getting them fitted? ie. will it give me any power increase or affect the sound of the exhaust at all? Or should I just stick to 2.25" exhaust all the way through?

I went with 2.5" from headers to the rear on my n/a. Some say it's too big for a n/a and that there is no backpressure but it find more of a torque increase rather than overall horsepower. I also have magnaflows and it sounds great:)

trying to extract power from a NA is like trying to get juice from a dried out orange...

A cat back would probably do you fine and save you a bit of money.
A quality set of cats and mufflers would go great for you i think :)

So, just out of curiousity would there actually be any power gains for going to a 2.5" system over 2.25" or would there be a possibility of there actually being a power loss due to less backpressure?

And yes, I know all the turbo boys probably think I'm wasting my time, but I'm finding it is becoming quite an enjoyable challenge trying to squeeze every little bit of performance out of my na instead of just bolding on a big set of blooody turbos :) each to their own I s'pose.

the bends in the stock exhaust are very restrictive compared to a 2.25" mandrel bent system so you will notice an improvement going to a 2.25" or 2.5" mandrel bent system. i went with 2.5" piping with TTz headers, metalcats, uas x-pipe/centre muffler and magnaflow mufflers. another member has a similar system but with 2.25" piping, never had a chance to compare though so can't really say if there is a benefit or loss going up to 2.5".

I got TTZ headers with a 2.5" press bent system. Definitely a significant increase in power down low. Not so noticeable on the top end.
