    Hi all

I'm going to replace my coil pack connectors in 2 weeks (Tas school hols)because I have a couple of dodgey ones and I think I really only have 2 options.

    Option 1:
Replace with the pre wired set from caz racing
I've soldered and rewired my S2 PTU and moved it to under the nose panel so I'm fairly confident of my newly aquired soldering skills now

Option 2: (As per the tech section)
Replace only the connector and pry away until the brittle plastic breaks and gently remove the spade
This certainly seems easier and is in the tech section!!

Any feedback on what's the better option or is one just as good as the other. I have a couple of weeks to do stuff so time is certainly no issue.

    Cheers all, Pete

Go the pre wired mate, using the original spades will be prone to corrosion

    IB ?????

For coil pack connectors I always go for option 2 as I have never seen any corroded coil pack connectors. Just broken plastic.

The only diifference is that I just use a small screw driver to release the locking tabs and remove the pin from the connector. No neeed to break the brittle connector.

If bought the pre-wired ones from Coz , had them in a few days and is a better long term solution. It's easy enough to do the job properly the first time.

The Injector Connectors are a different deal all together. The Coil Pack Connectors rarely see corrosion. At least from what I have been around.

I just take them out by releasing the litle Plastic retainers that hold them in the Connector wand put on a new Plastic Connector. Lots of Dielectric Grease for protection.

You can use CLR (Calcium Lime Rust) cleaner. Not sure if you guys can get it over there or not. You can also use this stuff called De-Oxit...

I actually have never used it before but some really good techs swear by it over here.

Here is a little cleaning how-to...

    Agreed....

    Definitely Option 2.
