I want to cut it, but i'm not sure about this (below)? What's the pulley between the crank pulley and the A/C pulley?
A/C has been out of gas for ages, I've never had the need for A/C anyways. Motor does rev much more freely now, so I guess the A/C pulley was on its way out anyways.
The bearing in the AC tensioner pulley seized in Silver. Belt went up in smoke on approaching the Harbour Bridge. Not fun
I had an AC belt seize tight while driving Peter Walsh's silver AMEC track car in Sydney peak hour traffic a few years back driving back from Goulburn Nats. Shrieked an ungodly banshee howl before stalling the motor in the Pacific Motorway middle lane due to his aftermarket ECU not supporting AAC control Cut the belt and be done with it...
I cut it yesterday and funnily enough... I think my "Lifter Tick" is gone now.... How's that for a coinkidinkle?
Maybe your "lifter tick" was a damaged bearing on the Idler Pulley or the A/C Compressor Pulley(it should be easy to check that now, both should spin freely and smoothly by hand)?
