no grinding noises etc? ....electrical, check plug. if not pull door trim off and check connections etc...
Yep, mine did it, pulled everything apart and took 4 hours. Turned out it was the window lock switch Try that before you start pulling your hair out I felt pretty silly
$#@% WINDOWS Yes, that lock switch can be a tricky little critter, I enjoyed an hour or so of interesting activity in a light drizzle at the Cowra Zed meet, removing door trims, checking and swapping bits only to find the lock switch was the culprit. Thanks again for all the help Doug and Michael Don't let the bast$#d get you down.
try Window winder motor world in the states , If the motor is gone . About $90 US plus freight:zlove:
Yeah seriously, the tech article that shows you how to fix it should have that as the first step. I spent a whole day taking apart the door and tracing wires back around the car with a multimeter cause the g/friend pressed the button without realising and got back telling me the window was broken :stupid: I just went straight to the tech article, didn't even search. Stupid maybe, but not that unrealistic.
Yes mine did too. Checked everything I could think of and eventually found the culprit was the window motor amplifier. It has 2 relays inside and the points had become too dirty to make contact. Not surprising after 20 years of use. I cleaned the points very gently with a small strip of fine emery paper and now the windows work fine. I would recommend checking the amp if the switches etc seem ok before trying to remove the motor
