    Hi

A couple of months a go I purchased a 300zx. This car has a full manual valve body for the automatic. I think for quick shifts it's pretty good. Anyway whilst this is the first car I have driven with this system I found that I keep having issues with shifting. Because I have to shift manually I will occasionally over shift gears for example go from 1 to 3. So after saying that I have a question.

I am wanting to know is there a way to put some sort of a positive stop on the gear stick to prevent over shifting. I also dont want to purchase a rachet shifter.

I not sure if anyone will answer this question as it seems like a uncommon sort of question for a 300zx but thats why I posted this. Should someone have some decent info let me know.

    cheers

mate just get used to it and you wont have a problem. i used to run a manual valve body with standard shifter and it was fine. its a great mod

I want it to look stock so i thought that a ratchet shifter would stick out of the centre console to much.

I think for alot of olds chevs they sell a after market detent plate which basically does what I need but I simply can't just buy this and apply it to a 1989 nissan. Im not even sure the z has a detent plate as I have never looked.
