Hey guys, preety stupid questions but need to know how to remove the stock gear knob. I have removed all the plastics and gear boot. But have gotten to removing the actual gear knob, and really unsure how to get it off to put my MOMO one on there? Thanks

Unscrew it, they can be very tight.

Not that I've ever taken one off a zed, but every other one I have taken off just screws off.. I'm guessing you tried that but?

Very very tight, wrap it in some cloth or something so you don't damage it and grab it with some multi-grips or the like and unscrew it with them.

For tight ones, try Chrispy's trick on removing rear cradle bushes. Bound to work.

    Unscrew counter clockwise

anticlockwise and if its never been removed then its got the factory loctite on it, a real bitch to get through. The best way i found was to inch my way..take alittle bit then come back and clean the thread by doing it up then getting through the loctite again and coming back..rinse and repeat and about an hour later youl be done.

Blowtorch? More fun than my way I guess :D

I'm pretty sure it's anti-clockwise to undo it.

    G clamp and a towel.

the leather on mine was already pretty shagged so i didn't even bother with the towel. got the clamp on there and eventually it came off.

it's glued on from factory so if it's never been unscrewed, you're gonna need a lot of force.

What is the chance of causing damage further down the shaft....linkage, bushes...or other??
