Went to the SAU-VIC and WRX club drag day with Chris and Emma today. Managed to be beat my previous best time (15.30 @ 90mph) and ran a 14.8540 @ 98.12mph, 2.3198 60ft which I was pretty happy with. Will upload the time sheet tomorrow. Was actually hoping for a 15.1 and didn't think I had the power to get into the 14's and also the other two cars in the 14's are both 2+0's so I had the extra weight penalty of a 2+2. My times were: 15.63, 15.55, 15.21, 15.19, 15.09, 15.13, 15.06, 14.85, 14.90, 14.97. I didn't really think I could improve more than that so called it quits after 10 runs, could have got another 10 runs in easily (I was only racing for about an hour and a half). That was one thing I liked about Heathcote compared to Calder park, don't have to wait 45mins between your runs. Although the track surface is way better at Calder. I was getting some heavy axle tramp, and compared to calder park I was launching from about 1000rpm less and I still had the tyres on normal street pressure (35psi) and felt like I had was getting more wheelspin compared to calder (i mainly was just bogging down at Calder) but times were better which is interesting. Maybe it's due to the lack of waiting around between runs. At calder I'd be waiting 45 mins between runs and I'd forget what I'd done wrong in the previous run whereas at Heathcote you could run 2mins after your last run so was easier to remember what worked/didn't work. pics and videos to come.
Pretty awesome day. My best run was 12.3 @ 124mph with a 1.9 sec 60 footer. Massive amount of axle tramp through 1st and 2nd. I'd love to get the suspension setup right and give it a run on high boost!
heathgoat (joke about it being a goat track) is a good bit of fun, for the extra drive its well worth it to have a run in a relaxed area and not wait an hour for 3 or 4 runs. The timing gear is questionable but hey its all for a bit of fun.

haha yowsers cutting 15s !!!! was gonna say.. is yours a NA? D u got any power under the bonnet or what...
I think my mate did 20 runs and he stopped about half an hour before they closed. The event started late and we were only racing from from 2-5pm, was supposed to start at 11am. You should come next time.
far out thats mint heaps of track time there. yeah i know i think i should start working on my car alot more and finish it lol
It looks like you guys had heaps of runs. Great work I think next time I may come see how we go. How many cars were on the track. ?
I don't think there were more than 20. After I get some suspension mods done, I'll be going again. Either to Calder or Heathcote, I don't care. I want that bloody 11 second run
difference being though is russel does a little track prep and Heatcote is notorious for being inconsistent and the timing gear is happy on ET or MPH depending on what lane you choose. still though Russel is a top bloke, is not selling the track and put on a good days racing without the rules of ANDRA getting in the way.
Well done, 14.85 is a great time for a NA. You would push close to beating Trayns 14.4 sec NA time with an improvement on your 60ft time.
Some video from the day. They show onw of my runs around the 2:30min mark. http://www.vimeo.com/13165941
i am not sure if i can beet trayns' time, he had a 2+0 and i read through most of his threads and he seemed pretty keen on the drags. i ran the car pretty much as it is on the street, didn't lower the rear tyre pressure (left it on 35psi) and didn't play with the damper setting on the shocks (ran it on full soft) so i think i could get a 14.7 or 14.6 if i can lower my 60ft time closer to 2.2, then might have to start stripping weight. i will go back for another shot later in the year. looks good with 4 flames out the back did you want me to upload that vid of you in the pit garages?
