    Hey all!

I Have had the front bar off last night, and have some questions regarding some of the parts underneath.

Firstly, I have had a pod filter installed for quite some time now, and am wondering whether it is safe to remove these?

Also what is this? - Outside thermometer?

And what does everyone do regarding water splashage onto the Filter: My filter is extremely vulnerable from the road, and I am worried about possibly sucking water at some stage...

    Thanks!

You can safely rip out those plastic parts, much easier job with the front bar off.
Not sure about that relay or whatever it is connected to the aircon compressor.

Yeah, pull all that old ductwork out.

The little sensor is the ambient temp sensor.

I don't bother with any splash protection or anything, but I don't go looking for big puddles to drive through. A bit of water won't hurt it.

Sweet as thanks, what about the stuff coming off the duct work? - Like the thing that has a ton of silver overspray (3rd and 4th pics)

Rip that out too, it's just acoustic stuff for the standard airbox. You don't need it with a pod.

yea u would hav to drive thru a big puddle for it cause any problems.. with just splash's from rain mite get ur pod a lil damp if its heavy rain but yea from there if it even able to suck any water from the dampness it would evaporate quick smart.

should I be worried about mist from following cars or anything?

    Air filter & water splashing

Not sure if you bought it like that, but the stock air-filter box has a flexible plastic shield that runs under it to protect it from water splashing. When I bought my Apexi Power Intake "kit"... it contained the pod, but also two metal brackets to re-angle this plastic shield, so that the pod would still be protected (these guys think of everything! :)). If this plastic shield is still in there you can re-angle it to block water splashing. If not... buy or fabricate one??

Yeah, the filter was waaayyyy to long for that, and so it is now sitting in my garage... it wasn't long enough to do much with, but I hadn't considered just different brackets... How much was the "kit"?

dont forget to plug thoses pipes up when you pull them off, otherwise you willl have huge air leaks! i plugged mine with rubber table feet things, got them from bunnings,

On my old NA they are blocked off inside. No extra bungs were needed.

    No he

means straight into the plenum, with a splash guard that won't happen.

which pipes are we talking about? - the large ones covered in silver overspray? - I've had the airbox disconnected for a fair while now, leaving the whole piping open to air? (i've just completely lost myself :p )

    Yes, the silver overspray ones.

what difference is it removing the piping? - Hasn't it been heapsa airflow since I pulled the airbox out?, to pulling the rest of the piping out?

No difference as the stock airbox is gone :p Just dead weight. Rip it out and chuck it in the bin :D
