i can understand that you are disapointed, but its not the end of the world, it soulds like there are some issues with the car, but they might not be all that serious. just work through them, get it running right, then bump the timing and boost up and worry about power figures then.
Consider swapping to a 3" zorst? that amount of boost seems restrictive on small dumps when 3" is cheap and available.
Farkin' hell, $60K ???? I don't know what you got in return for that $60k but would be interested to see the invoice details! Anyway, that's not my problem. But just wanted to mention the over heating issue for starters. If your cooling system is in check and running properly you don't need to have a vented nose panel to keep it in tolerable temps. - even with a front mount. Yes it may help, but barely. I've got both stock nose panels and also a vented nose panel for my Zed, and if i really try to look very hard, i might notice maybe 1 degree difference in temps between them. (and that's only a maybe).
i hope he deosnt mean 60k at once. hopefully he meant to say his car has costed him 60k so far... but even then WOW
yeah we've all been down that road. Mine probably owes me almost 30k. and ive still got a stock bottom end :bash::bash:
not all at ones but did accumulate to this amount got all receipts bar one the last visit i mentioned for some reason may be i forgot to ask for one.
60K ia alot of money mate. UAS should be looking after you real well and making sure their customer is happy. thats bad
I've done cams john don't no what e85 is I'm thinking its race fuel if so, if i could buy it from a local bp id tune the car for it but i drive it most weekends and race fuel is not practical for a street driven car. is it going to cost me an arm and a leg on the dyno and in labor this time round if i do give ya one last chance to make it run right?
this has been going on for a while now may be this is the only way to get things done matters resolved im just more and more out of pocket each time i go back there and more problems arise i don't believe i should be paying for thing to get done right a second or third time.
Shit happens mate, the motor in my car is the 4th in 18 months. If u aren't prepared to pay a workshop then u should start learning to do stuff yourself, or get some better mates (we love u guys) or both
E85 isn't race fuel. It's an ethanol-petrol blend and you can buy it from a few service stations. Anywho, keep your dispute with your workshop off the forum. It doesn't do either party any good.
Trying to but you booked your car in and did not turn up. I tried calling you a few times also. We currently have 5 zeds in our shop all making over 300rwks, all but one are manual, all but one have bigger turbo's than yours. We did not supply the turbo;s althouh I am pretty sure they are S15 tubo's. Highly modified cars sometimes have issues, yes yours has had plenty. Also horse power creates heat especially as an auto. Your car Danny from memory makes the most power we have seen as an auto. We do care and interested and do our best and sorry you are not happy Danny.
The turbos were bought off rob 260 which he bought from you still in the in the plastic wrapping with a green GCG sticker on it where you got them from. yes i did call you to check your availability, tell you i would like to book it in soon and stated a couple of the problems ive had you didn't sound very interested after i mentioned they should be covered under warranty you have only tried calling me after this thread started don't have the money to deal with this now so i will talk to you in a couple of weeks as i know i will be paying.
Turbos weren't from UAS, it is a Z1 motorsports GT28R kit that I bought from conceptzperformance. They were VSR balanced at GCG when I first got them, hence the wrapping and sticker. VSR balancing involves spinning the components of the core of the turbo to 250,000rpm to address any imbalance issue. Turbo components are generally balanced individually, however any imperfections can add up to an imbalance issue once it is assembled. Hence the the VSR testing... Re dyno run you are looking at a 14% drop on a different dyno with less timing... The only real way to confirm is to run it on the same dyno, and even then you are only going to measure what you have lost with the less agressive tune. Re overheating you really need to rethink the nose panel. You can't hold John/Ben/etc accountable for the results if you aren't following their advice. You are running a plazmaman IC now right? So that is like 90mm work of intercooler that you have dropped in front of your radiator that didn't used to be there. With reduced airflow you get reduced heat exchange and............... Besides a bonnet that doesn't sit flush at the rear looks WAY more ghetto than a slotted nose panel
