I haven't seen too many GT28R turbos making 320kw without some other pretty wild work and race fuel, etc.. You'd be wanting to go the GT28RS for those numbers and higher. ...But back to your original posted question. Here's how i made 320kw without paying stupid amounts of money... LINKY-POO!
Mr0300, if you want some answers can you please respond to all of the questions in my post. I suspect that you might have absolutely no problems what so ever, as you have mentioned the car has made that figure before and being at Unique I highly doubt that they fudge their dyno figure. Unlike like a lot of dyno queens the Vg30DE makes torque and lost of it. That is what makes it such a good engine, the peak power figure means squat, unless you are comparing dick sizes with some honda vtec yo boy. If you want to make a cmparison for engines, you need to include the torque curve. However if you want a dyno queen that can be achieved too, but be prepared to have something that will be impossible to drive.
is your ecu tuned up. how are your timing maps??? id expect 279 on a really weak tune or on a car with issues.. and bad plugs
your looking at it the wrong way you have a good base, it should have more in it, dont get bitter get better, get to work mate.... Just wondering, what dumps you got, single vs dual intake, throttle bodies diameter, what fuel pressure, do you have an after market fuel reg, did you change you pump with a new oem one when rebuilding, what type of fuel (you can always put it in the fridge before you use it, then go on the dyno)
Here ya go: http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/showthread.php?t=290162&highlight=badxtc+dyno That's his thread, his mod list is pretty extensive apparently so perhaps he has more supporting mods than you to get to that power figure. He still has Stock Cams though it says. And yes, manual transmission so you're probably right saying at least 20rwkw loss through your slushbox compared to that. Maybe with a tune aimed at peak power you could see more HP. The tune in the first place could of been on the conservative/safe side. Would be interesting to see a torque curve of yours, and to see if air/fuel ratio's remain stable etc.
Hi Danny that is a bit average although you must have forgotten that we turned your timing down last visit to be safe, due over heating issues. Remember I keep recommending to run a vented panel between the headlights to get direct air to radiator, although you wanted to run with factory panel between headlights. The auto robs power and I would have thought your car would have made more power than this, and depends on dyno to. Our dyno is not happy though and only way to know is run on our dyno and see if something has gone wrong, could be an issue with the car.
Checked our dyno computer, the most it made was 326.3 RWKW on 4/11/2009 21psi. Also a dyno is a tuning tool and diagnostic tool more than a measuring device and a comparing device, it is an inidacator as dyno's read different. If you want more power though you need cams and or E85 then it will make a lot more power.
I don't recall it being mentioned before my last visit was to resolve the over heating issue by installing Nismo thermostat, draining coolant and replacing it, with water wetter and still water, ducting the oil cooler. with out an accurate gauge "faulty sensor" supplied with ruzic unit how am i to know if my car oil temp really is 132'c the car accumulates so much heat throw the firer wall and has discolored the ceiling above it in the garage car sounds like it is boiling in side when i turn the car off. John I don't think you want me to point out every faulty part i bought from you and paid labor to even replace them or how many times I've paid to dyno tune my car with out an out come that resolved the problem. in regards to nose panel i don't like the look of them personally for my car Ive tried to resolve that by removing rubber seal at the back of engine bay and raised the rear of the bonnet with washers to let the heat out where that is the real issue heat is accumulating under the bonnet and ha no where to go. forget about my first motor built by other mechanic (DRC) and the blowing of that head gasket. From when you re-built this motor from the ground up with the new block cheeking all clearances bearings gear box and parts it has coast me over 60 thousand and it still has problems. what can i do now keep pouring money into it or just live with it. so as rollin says thanks john, what would i know anyways im just a "spoiled kid"
Anyways man don't wanna keep going back and forward with ya, do you realize why I'm so angry what would you do if some one came to you with that sorta money would that car run 100% would you be proud enough to put your sticker on that car and say i built that motor.
