Did my centre panel conversion over the weekend and thought of posting the pics here to show the difference between a "pinkish" red and the brighter red. I used several layers of red cellophane to achieve the shade that I want. This is its colour using the red panel. It's pinkish in flesh and a bit whitish on the photo: To compare it with our stock brakelight: After adding up some cellophane material: And again, to compare: This would be for everyone's reference if ever they decide in the future to go the same path I went. At the end of the day, I think it also made me decide to go RED "300" and PINKISH "ZX". Gave it a bit of a twist and separated the numbers and the letters in a way. Hope this helps... Arvin
Thanks Elie! I liked it as well. Was an accident coming up with such idea. LOL. Was just meant to show you guys the difference between the shades so I can probably help others with what I'm doing at the same time. Just returning what this forum has brought me from all those help and ideas I gained... Cheers mate...
Wow man that is a great idea I love it! Wondering how red 300 and blue ZX would look. Gonna do a test in photoshop lol Very original man! -YakuzaMoon Tested it in blue and red ... doesn't look good at all lol your color choice is very fitting
Didn't entertain the idea of blue and red as I'm aware that it's a defect here in NSW having blue lights. Thanks for the compliments, Yakuzamoon...
Hey Chad, I've used 4 layers of cellophane to suit my taste of red. I reckon it's the closest to the brakelights' hue...
Looks very nice mate. Kinda sad I ended up being the 'guinea pig' and was stuck with the pinkish hue lol, but at least there is a fix. Will do the same shortly. I'm definitely going go a blood red hue, that was my intention from the start. Oh and I spoke to SPOOLE300ZX about the inverter and he found it odd too yours was different, but in the end doesn't really matter, yours works and looks great so congrats, and I also see no light leakage so looks like you took care of that too. :zlove: MoulaZX
LOL. Was very anal when it comes to "light leak". My being very obsessive-compulsive came handy! Didn't end up using the paint though. Was thinking it would be too much hassle to paint the whole thing then sand it again. Plus, I didn't have a stock paint at that time. Felt too lazy to go to the shops! LOL. Anyhow, thanks for the compliments, Emile...
thanx the red looks great the pink however ........... lol mine is getting done atm just wanted to double check coz i want it to be exactly like the brake light colour
Got my centre panel installed. So happy with the outcome. Anyhow, how can we get those small and superficial scratches/blemishes repaired on the clear, outside surface of the centre panel? Any ways we can get it clear and shiny again?
