Because I have Benny's proven sheet so i know what to expect from the hyper gear turbos for power and response.

With the .83 exhaust wheel on my t28s I am unsure whether they will be too laggy for what I want.

I'm trying to decide and I thought finding out what my t28's are worth would make me one step closer to helping me decide!

2nded to support keep them. You will always lose money when trying to sell something 2nd hand though they are good quality parts.

All of our turbos are local made including all machinery work involved running Garrett Performance bearing internals. Which is why they perform and last.

If you have the stock .63 turbos of a manual TT, It is just a better option to high flow them to the 2860RS -5 spec. That will turn it to what Benny's got in his 320rwkws 300ZX. and every thing bolt back on with no modifications.

You cant tell me that you'd actually recommend him to SELL his 28's and go for Hypergears?

He already has the 28's.... like... in his possession... he's not asking whats a better deal for his situation before he buys a turbo kit...

Maybe he realises that a 0.86 housing is too big for the street and will be lag-central. Granted he could get a new housing, but this won't be exactely cheap, or he could sell and maybe even make a small profit by going brand new hypergear, which from my experience are pretty good...

Exactly my situation. My z is my daily with some hillclimb/motorkhana in mind at some future stage, never intended for dragging or dyno queen. Just every day use and some fun.

    Benny_C About as subtle as...

I'd like to mention that my turbos are from Hypergear - but are in fact the genuine garrett stock housings, highflowed with GT28RS Garrett cores. They aren't aftermarket or korean housing versions, so i can't comment on these.

Regarding Adamness's original post, yes you have nice big turbos there with nice big cores - but the .86 housings will be the drawback unless you've done lots of of head work to get flow up to maximum.
I would also recommend either getting new smaller exhaust housings to make it more streetable, or sell them and get some new turbos that are more suitable.

IMO, pull your stock Garrett turbos off and send them to Hypergear to get flowed with the GT28RS cores like i've done. This way, there's no bok-choy bits in it at all. and i can vouch that they go like a scoulded cat! :D

Then i'm gonna go against the trend and say turff the garretts, 0.86 housing is deffinately too big for what you want. my car with a SUPER conservative tune (less timing than stock ) and hypergears (with what benny refers to as korean bok choi housings lol ) gets around 5psi at 3500 RPM and hits full boost around 4500 RPM, proceeding to pull like a train with NO drop off to the limiter . With a more agressive timing, some proper manifolds and dumps i;m sure that could be MASSIVELY improved, its all in the pipeline...

god dam i need to stop spending money on my zed :zlove:

I even have a spare set of stockies that I could get done!

Chrispy you got an offer for me?

Or can someone tell me based on the specs/pics how much they're worth? Cause I got no idea! I have looked aroudn without much success.

I would be absolutely happy with 300+rwkw not much lag and i don't have to worry about cams and extensive headwork.

This is why I am questioning whether these turbos I have are what I am after, the only advantage I can see is I already have them! But if I can sell them for a decent amount I would be happy as and get some hypergears.
