Hi all, ive got a leak coming from what ive found out is my power steering rack pressure control flow valve solenoid. One of these things-

Apparently the o'rings in these get old and need replacing. What i want to know is do i have to drain the power steering fluid before taking this off? And can i just use normal orings from an auto shop?

    Cheers

make sure you fill it back up with ATF not power steering fluid

In my experience, it's usually the shaft seals that go before the solenoid o-rings. Not saying that's the case here but I've re-used the orings when swapping sensors plenty of times in the past. The o-rings are nothing special and can just use generic ones off the shelf.

It will leak slowly when removed but won't empty the reservoir in 10 seconds. As Morboost said, straight Dex3 to top it up.
