    Hey guys,
I'm trying to change my reverse light sensor. I've got the front of the car up on jack stands and I've found the sensor, I just can't get it loose; it's in a very awkward position. Anyone in Brisbane want to give me a hand? I'm in Tarragindi.

    Thanks

Drop the gearbox 100mm or so. Just undo the rear mount and lower with a jack. You may have to remove the exhaust if you haven't done so already.

I think this is starting to get a bit too complicated for me, how much would a mechanic charge to do this? Any recommendations in Brisbane?

Has anyone done this without removing the exhaust?
How far can I lower the gearbox with the exhaust attached.

Ok, I managed to squeeze my hands in there and get it off. Only problem is that now I have installed the new one, and the reverse lights still don't work. I'm too tired now, but I'll check out the voltage later on and try a bit of problem solving.

P.S. The one I removed had seized up, so I'm sure that was the problem... Or one of the problems?

Yeah, they were the first things I checked... If I have the car switched to 'on', but not started, and I press the button on the sensor in, should the reverse lights go on?
