For those of you wondering how much the components cost, all up it was about $13. Best place to buy it from is www.futurlec.com.au. They have every part required. Only difference is that the MAX232N is actually a MAX232CPE here and I couldn't find the exact 4060 chip but a normal one worked.Cheers,

Also interested in the kit. I tried Dick Smith but they are usless as digikey Part # dont mach theirs, i managed to get some of the parts, but if you have the time and resources to make the kits ill take two!Thanks!

I was going to have my own version made up but this is a good starting point so put me down for 3 (a few spares just in case ). I found a supplier in adelaide where I can get most of the parts so I may be able to put together kits if people want.I'll call you today some time as I need to chat with you about torana club membership.CheersAB
