    Ok, heres the updated information...

So, my count down until my full license is finally coming to an end, and I thought to myself, "What better way to celebrate, than to hit the blue mountains in my new twin turbo zed"

So, here is the plan for those who are keen.

    Date:
    24th August

    Meeting point:
    Windsor McDonalds @ 9am for 9.30am departure

Cruise up to Bathurst via Bells line of road (12pm arrival), and do a few laps of Mount Panorama (at the 60km speed limit).
After this, we will proceed to the Church Bar & Woodfired Pizza for lunch around 1pm (Vegetarian, and Gluten Free options available)
Depart from Bathurst around 3pm, and head back to Sydney via Katoomba.

This is the route I have in mind

If you're gonna go as far as Lithgow, you should go a little further for a few laps of the mountain :br:

Do police patrol the mountain hardcore? And is the whole track open to the public? :)

I'm down for what ever! As Trent said, what is the police situation like around Mt. Panorama?

Yes it is and no they don't, but step out of line and guarantee several locals will be on the phone and they won't be far away lol!

But don't worry, the mountain is impressive at 60kmh if you've never been there before :br:

And some great photo opps :)

Seems like a bit of a bummer but I'm sure just driving the track would be awesome. I'm keen.

    Mt Panorama Events

There appears to be an event on at Mt Panorama that day. (Bathurst light car club mountain straight hill climb, from 8am till 7pm)

Won't stop me from going on the cruise... but if people are planning on a few laps of the track... might not be possible.

Anways... count me in at this stage Logan.

Oh really? I checked for events, and didn't see that :(
Might have to reschedule the date then, as I think the laps of the mountain would make the cruise :)

they don't always close it for the whole day though they have to let locals past or go up the right way to forest elbow turn around and come back the mountain the wrong way.
    any nobs from newie going
