Was driving to work on the Monash Freeway this morning and saw a Black series 2 2 seater headed southbound on the side of the freeway that had rear ended someone? Anyone on here, apart from the front end it looked to be pretty clean with 350Z Nismo rims
Been covered here too - http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/showthread.php?t=331287 I saw it last night too. Them wheels
The other thread says 2 seater, this one says 2 2 seater? So are there two or was it a stutter? A 2 seater and a 2+2 seater. Who is black with Nismo 350z wheels in Melbourne, someone must know? Even if you check all the black Zeds, there can't be that many in Melbourne.
It looked in pretty good nick paint wize. Did it still have plates on it? Might be able to get it cheap before it gets towed by the council.
Did anyone see "Car Crash Investigations" on TV last night here in Victoria? They showed an accident involving a single car crash which was a 300 ZX, accident was in Sydney area, where the car slammed sideways into a concrete wall out the front of a car wash. The driver survived but his passenger who happened to be his brother was killed. They were 2 Indian students. Interestingly the policeman who did the inspection on the car, noted the car had 18 inch rims, although they did not contribute to the accident, said that because they were not the same size rims as factory fitment, then the vehicle if pulled over, can be defected as un-roadworthy. Just a note of caution to all those with aftermarket rims, that are a different size to the standard fitted rims of the 300 ZX. We sometimes put bigger flashy wheels on our cars without thinking that one day we may have to take them off again. Stu
I don't think the issue was the 18" wheels, it was the tyre width I think the tyres were 265's whereas the standard Z is 225. Point made though, we do need to be aware when we put non-standard gear on our cars a) that it won't get defected and b) that the insurance company will cover any accident.
