That's pretty cool man. Shame about putting the weight so far back past the axle but a great outcome nevertheless Put some bulkhead terminals behind the rear center boot trim panel as a jump point
Snug fit, but I'd be a little concerned about getting rear-ended. Pushing a battery into a fuel tank might have... undesirable consequences.
im going to assume that you consider the car exploding to be a bad thing? if its behind the reo bar, then it is "kinda" protected
strong possibilty of a major electrical sort at teh least, but i guess some cars have their battery mounted quite forward in the engine bay I think the install is neat, location a bit odd though
My 2+2 was rear ended by the rear end of a Pajero a couple of weeks ago. His towbar ball hit that exact spot. Crushed the number plate. Footage captured on the rear view internal camera. The number plate mounted camera doesn't work anymore.
Was a long haul to get the damn thing in house. But got it today, spent a few hours in the garage and hey presto. Step two: Check
Why did you convert? I can only assume some kind of ECU feedback/control/protection, and being able to cut throttle?
Added extra lighting to my car. Today finished the side bumper reflectors to light up. The other week I added the parker lights to the after-market side blinker unit and reconnected the "fog" light wire back to where it should be. End result.
Drove mine a few days ago, need to go over all the piping for boost leaks and then its getting towed to UAS for the front brakes, front suspension and dump pipes to be installed. Then i'll book the car in for paint and fit the TwinZ gear to it. Its getting real close
Engine Swap a la' _Robbo_ Thanks to the incredible generosity and mechanical talent of Dan, we swapped my engine out! It's funny how this came about, I had oil in my coolant and was considering parting her out and had made the decision after 3 weeks of depression, then ZXGirl turns up in my front yard and offers to buy it even after I explained what was happening to the engine (had already had the heads done). Anyway she didn't end up buying her and it strengthened my resolve to fix it back up and the same day I noticed Dan's (_Robbo_) engine for sale!! His had only done 160 thousand odd K's compared to my 414 Thousand and was on the forum for $700... so I grabbed it and a couple of weeks ago in a quiet factory in Frankenstein we put it in... Hmmmm nice matching timing covers! :zlove: [img=http://s33.postimg.org/hteboo2sr/hmmm_nice_red_covers.jpg] [img=http://s33.postimg.org/6rwo6b8kr/ready_for_launch.jpg] The Master himself! lol! For someone still in his 20's you showed mechanical patience and dogged persaverance of someone much older. Thanks for your generousity of time and the extra bits you threw in for a tiny bit extra (and I mean tiny)! Job well done mate!
Sick of getting a flat battery after extended periods of rest. At most I drive the Z twice a month... Added this which should solve the flat battery problem nicely. Only recommendation is that the green disconnect knob is too tall and impacts the bonnet when the hood is down. This means that when you think it's disconnected, when you close the bonnet it re-connects. Easy solution is to remove the green nut entirely for tool-free battery disconnect. Had one of these that I could have used, but space is at a premium, so left it in the parts cupboard...
Changed my Gearbox Oil... Thanks once again to Dan (_Robbo_) for "saving" my Zed.... got inspired after the engine swap to start doing all my own work on the Zed again and had a slight whine in the gearbox when cold so i went out and bought myself a handpump (Tomthumb) and some Penrite 70w-90 and did the job. Made heeeaaps of difference and the gear changes are silky smooth once again! :zlove:
Got past me.. Yes all of the above. Power limiter is one big reason. I can have 3 different DBW tables with individual offset tables on them all.. Powerfull stuff. Works perfectly.
Additionally, for serious wank factor, invoke some "anti-lag' above "X" rpm for that flames/banging fun factor!!!! Easy to do. Another nice toy is to invoke liftoff with no throttle. Hillstartsd are a breeze now via throttle/brake rather than heavfing on a handbrake.! E
Yeah. And throttleblip on dowshift. I can use it for idlecontrol too. Also i can tune throttle for best power. It isnt always wide open throttle that gives best VE. Sometimes air velocity meens more than air availability. Lots of possibilities..
Purchased Brand new 370z Akebono Calipers. Had to be purchased after feeling the stopping power they can unleash in Luke300's car.
i have these and while i have nothing to compare to i think they are awesome just dont put your phone on the passenger seat as it will hit the dash and smash . never mind i needed a new one anyway.
