Is there any zeds out there already on air bag suspension i have to get it for mine, my new driveway is way to much of a mission and my shoulders are killing me from those tien adjustable. so i am sourcing the best kit that suits our 300s.
I already have a good installer in Sydney that has fitted air bags to a mates is250, so if any one has info about them or is thinking of getting them as well let me know we will get a better price.

thats one thing the zed doesnt need. more piping. and a huge air reservoir. why dont u just wind your coilys up. or level your driveway :)

the thing with airbags is you need a very good air compressor, no air tank as such, but to work effectively it need to be computer controlled, also requires sls or self levelling suspension to work effectively, i had it on my disco (landrover discovery), excellent whilst it's working but sucks real bad when not, most 4x4 guys with discos also carry a spare airbag in the car when they go bush. Having pump up springs is a totally different thing to having air suspension that actually works in driving conditions.
I should add, the ride from the discovery sls is simply awesome when it's working :D

If you want airbags buy a Soarer (and be ready to fork out $1k each when they die)

steep driveway is a weak excuse to get airbags. raise your spring height or fix your driveway :p

your emphasis on "when it's working" worries me :p

Hey danny, did you get your car running properly in the end?
Re the driveway -isn't your dad a builder? Just get the driveway fixed... Wouldn't be much in concrete if you guys did any cutting and formwork. In fact i reckon it would cost less than airbag kit. Something to think about anyway.
    Chicks dig big shoulders anyway!

What i was trying to get at is that airbag suspension is a lot more involved than just whacking a couple of airbag springs in the car and pumping them up, if you want it to work properly, which with the Z is a different kettle of fish to a 4x4, assuming most drive the Z a bit more aggressively than a 4x4, there are all sorts of things that can and do go wrong with self levelling air suspension, from small air leaks ( similar to boost leaks) in the air lines, to sensor failure, to airbag failure, i really don't think air suspension is a viable alternative on a Z and would be a complete waste of money, a set of teins or similar with a edfc would be a better alternative, or as a couple have mentioned, fix the bloody driveway :bash: :D

Sounds easy enough to fix the driveway but the driveway has just been done and it needs to apply to the council and there regulations, So the only way to stay low and have it kept in a garage (safe) is air bags.
I have heard that air bags have come along way as they are being used on Lamborghini's, 1000hp hot rods, ect.. They even have there own in built shocks.
This is one i have found earlier but since have been told there are not a good brand.

You would be replacing the whole suspension and it will need to be continuously monitored and controlled. Pumps, tanks, relays, valves, sensors, computers etc. It also needs to be developed and tuned for the zed to get any sort of handling.

Sounds like a nice, expensive long term project.

All this just to get the car into the garage ????????

Leave him alone Stef, at least there won't be any room left in this car to install the LPG Tank or the Sub-Woofers/Amplifiers(once he fits the 20 ltr air tank and all the plumbing). For Gods sake, just buy a 4WD.
What's next? A remote controlled Jumping Jack ala the Mexican Hot Rod scene?:eek:

i dont know why u go through all the trouble of a air bar kit unless it was a showcar dropped on its nuts. i mean just to get down a driveway into a garage is a bit much to justify gettin air bags. u might just have to cop it sweet and park on the street, that or get a new house, or do the driveway again. if u do go airbags, u should fully turn the car into one of them blingy things u see at autosalons etc

It goes to a basement garage i would have to ramp the whole drive way its fukd, if i left it out side one night it will be gone, tried it once and a toe truck was eying it off he came back later about 4am but i parked it in a good 20mm each front and back and i ran after him he had no plates.

I will place a photo of the driveway...
