I would have been stoked with 12,500 but the fact he turned that down he obviously doesn't know what they're worth.

sorry to hear, better luck next time.

At the end of the day its still a nearly 20 year old NA...

So far ive had absolutely no probs driving it (not even weird noises or anything), engine temp never goes above 1/2 way - that said ive only had for 3 months. I did use the gutter rash and spoiler blemishes to get the price down. If i was searching for z and had more than 10k to spend id be after a TT.

Can't go a TT because I'm still on my P Plates...only for a couple of months though.

Even then, I don't think I'll be able to have one because of the insurance :(

I have told him I'll give him a call back next week but I won't be going any higher than $12,500. Can't afford it :(

Yeah I'm on P's too (WA p's for the win). Good luck with it all - hopefully his desire to sell is greater than yours to buy ;)

Don't think he is - he has had another 3 people to see the car and from what I understand all of them have said they are interested but only I have given him an offer.

I'll keep you all posted on what happens next week ;)

    Currently it's stock and black.

Good luck with finding a nice zed :zlove:

If you're that close to the edge financially, then with the greatest of respect, you cannot afford to buy a Z32.
Buying one is only the beginning of the drain on your money.
Insurance will kill you, maintenance will wipe you out, and a TT has so much more to go wrong.
I paid $38.5K for my 89 TT 2+2 Manual(9 years ago)and I have spent at least that much again in repairs/maintenance and upgrades(none of which was due to accident damage repair). I love my car, but am under no illusion as to how much of a financial time-bomb it can be at any given moment.
I would strongly advise you to seriously consider buying this NA(if it lives up to it's claimed history)and give yourself some amount of confidence in the knowledge that you have a well maintained car with no apparent surprises hiding in the shadows(the only safety net you are ever going to have during Zed ownership).
This guy obviously knows he has a good car(so he also knows roughly what it's worth).
Take no notice of all the "experts/valuers" who have no first hand knowledge of the car in question, and so have 2/5ths of SFA of knowing what it's real value may be.:zlove::zlove:

Front bars are almost always a slighlty different color to the rest of the car, in the photo it looks like its been a exaggerated by the angles/light etc. this is due to the flex additive in the paint... nothing to worry about...

So? when buying a car, regardless of what it is you've got to part with as little of your own hard earned as possible, its not about making sure the owners 'feelings' aren't hurt haha. If its a genuine offer the worst the seller can say is no, and move on.

Going to make this quick I'm off to bed lol.

I'm aware of maintenance costs with this car, but isn't every hi-performance car like that really?

I can easily make the repayments on a Z32 and have plenty left over for maintenance/mods/living, but I don't want to be the target of higher insurance and maintenance costs as well as feds' attention with a TT. Maybe when I'm 25+ :p

The guy with the NA in question is undoubtedly the first owner (saw the purchase receipt from Sutherland Nissan addressed to him, plus a service history), however he hasn't kept any of his maintenance receipts so I'm not 100% sure what has been done. He has told me he has had two new mufflers along with the gearstick bushings and tyres replaced though. Gearstick is tight and feels brand new, as does the clutch.

Haven't been able to get it off my mind tonight lol

Sounds like you have your priorities sorted out(and have already made up your mind about this car)so all remains is to settle on a price that you both can live with.:zlove:
Go get it(you know you want to).;);)
I'll guarantee that the owner didn't keep this car for 18 years "because it was a piece of junk".:zlove::zlove:

So????..........When the time comes to sell your beloved Z & someone offers you about $6500 less than your asking price & more importantly about $4000 less than what it's worth I bet you will be whistling a different tune! :(:(:(:(

It's not about hurting the owners feeling its about keeping the value of these cars as high as possible for all our sakes!.......like I said an offer of $7500 for this rare example of a Z is an INSULT!.......to all Z owners!:mad::mad:

Sorry for not clearing this up sooner guys, I offered him $12,500 for it and he wouldn't budge from $13,000.

I agree with $7,500 being an insult, I raised an eyebrow when everybody said around that price.

Oh well, we will see how the next week pans out.

Is there anybody remotely close to Sutherland Shire or Hurstville that would like to come have a look and tell me their educated opinion? Lol there's a case of your preferred beverage in it for ya ;)

I probably would be whistling a different tune if i was trying to sell but im not so yeah... what do you think a dealer would offer him, $7k? hell no. To the OP, the owner is a fool for not taking 12 in today's market the car is 20 years old ffs, unless he can afford to have it sit there at 14 obviously. Id leave it with him see if he calls you back, if not move on.

if you have a fair bit of dosh.. and your a p plater have a look at my Z... but be prepared for a tech day with it...

and youll be allright.. needs a fair bit of work but in the end you will have a aus spec 2+2 targa red NA P plater friendly 94 model 300zx, but if your not into getting it worked. id advise against it..

good luck searching... btw.. look hard for problems.. there bound to be in there somewhere...

If you don't trust your own test drive, or the full service history of the car, why not ask the guys from Just Jap at Kirrawee to take a look at it for you?
I'd trust them before any of the self confessed experts on this thread.:rolleyes2::zlove:
