I think that's more an excuse to be honest. Sure, they may have to get used to the interface and functions, but with all said and done, all cars have the same operating parameters like air, fuel and ignition, so any decent tuner should be able to work their magic on wolf / etc..

Nice, let me know, would be interested to find out. I don't know much about tuning, but my friend's a tuner (loves his emanages and power fcs) so he tells me here and there. Him and another guy have designed a turbo kit for the soarer / lexus 4.0 v8, so far with emanage management, they've squeezed out 212 rwkw @ 5 psi!

I have gt28r,s on mine and I am getting 310rwkw, I have done only slight mods to the engine and bigger intercoolers of course. I am still running the stock fuel pump at 94% DC with Sard injectors.
If I did the heads up and put in cams and bigger a fuel pump/injectors I reckon I'd push 400rwkw
The problem you will have with bigger turbo's is spool up time, the 28s are pretty quick off the mark.

So a proper chipped ECU that has great fuel and timing maps is a weak link in the system??? How can you justify saying that? A chipped ECU does exactly what an aftermarket ECU does, and keeps the standard featured the engine relies on to run smootly, for much less $$ than a brand name aftermarket ECU.

To be honest, I prefer aftermarket ECUs because they're easier to tune, but the fact is, if his a/f ratios and ign timing maps are right, he will make absolutely ZERO more hp with an aftermarket ECU. unless the aftermarket ECU comes with a free bottle of NOS.

The stock ECU with nistune is by far the best solution for a road car even with extensive mods.
