CVT continuously variable transmission is a transmission which can change steplessly through an infinite number of effective gear ratios between maximum and minimum values. This contrasts with other mechanical transmissions that only allow a few different distinct gear ratios to be selected. The flexibility of a CVT allows the driving shaft to maintain a constant angular velocity over a range of output velocities. This can provide better fuel economy than other transmissions by enabling the engine to run at its most efficient revolutions per minute (RPM) for a range of vehicle speeds.

A semi automatic is an gearbox without a clutch like paddle shift gearboxes that allow a driver to change gears without the need of pushing a clutch in to change gears.

    Hope that helps you out.

And i dont think that zed would have this setup in the car unless they have put it in but havent said anything about it. Plus it has a TT front bar.

Its also got a sound system that adds an extra 1700 to the price because its fully sic!

It's not hard to f*ck up a carsales add by not paying attention to what you're clicking (or if you have no idea what you have).

that aint no TT front bar, he just glued mesh pieces onto the NA bar to make like it has slits.

Well it says in the ad "All stock standard except exhaust, sports suspension and sound system."

I'm guessing the seller just chose the wrong option and it's just a plain old 4-speed auto.

Have a closer look. They have cut slits in the bar, and tied the mesh on with black cable-ties(very professional).

Definately an Aus-spec front bar... dummy corner lamps.
But I'm not aware that CVT 'boxes have been adapted to something as heavy/powerful?(NA) as a 300zx.... they are usually in lighter less powerful cars like the Dutch DAF, and the Volvo 360.

Man I dont understand this obsession with putting TT bars on NA's these days, its in the league of having a fake blow-off valve noise generator and giant canon mufflers

majority of people cant tell the difference, i think its more a case of people putting them on if they have a bump, and they can only find a TT front bar. I reckon they look better anyway...

CVT boxes in the Nissan Murano, V35 Skyline, both with the 3.5l V6

The first CVT I drove was a DAF.

Thanks, Stef. Looks like CVT 'boxes have come a long way since I read up on them years ago.

Ditto, I reckon they look much better and yes I got reversed into in City and was a golden opportunity to get mine put on. (Had been sitting in the shed for a yr).
Purely aesthetic reasons, I didn't even consider trying to emulate a TT. ;)
