Had a good day today fellas, sure bet sitting around at home. Sure to see some pics of my unwashed, half finished baby soon I think Adam took some during the day and someone else too. And Chris, I think next time just stay in the car and yell at us through the window, the whole not getting your hands dirty thing didn't last long
he made it till about an hour before he left... he just had to get his hands dirty.. It was a great day... and now parts are open to interstare buyers... will be getting prices on the wing for some other members now..
haha yep. But at least we got your exhaust off and also Peter's nuts as well. Free nutZ! hahaha I think i'm slightly sunburnt again, tech days have a habit of being real sunny Was good to catch up with the regulars again and also Martin our new Vic cousin
A1 to that man. I don't know if I want dinner or not now, absolutely gorged myself on sausages and steaks. And also dim sims later on. Also thanks for the parts Billy. As said if i'm free i'm more than happy to come up and help again. You really need to get the suspension out to get as much money from the wreck as you can. Maybe see if any tow truck drivers would remove the shell of a car from the premesis for scrap.
yep, a great techday. lots of work done with a decent turnout. i'll post some pics tomorrow, too lazy right now. while removing billy's catback chris jumped in to lend a hand. halfway through what he was doing i suddenly realised he's getting himself dirty...? thanks for the help dude but you really should take up evan's suggestion. sit in the car with a beer and just bark orders through the window, else you always get sucked into doing work oh and nice to meet u martin (martini_z) tas->vic zedder. you are now more elite than before also i'll be happy to lend a hand again if you decide to strip it to a bare shell and take out all the rear suspension, f/r brakes, diff + subframe, driveshaft etc. they all look like they're in good shape
Was great meeting you guys! Thanks again for the consult Adam and help with my camber adjustment sandeep and billy. And yep, the food was great PS billy I left my black oil bucket under your car along with the jackstands, hang onto them for me please? Cheers, Martin
I'm going back tomorrow morning to pickup some stuff. Want me to get the jackstand and the oil bucket for you?
ah that explains the jack stands. They're the same sort as mine so I was about to nick off with them...then went.."the ****, I never got mine out of the car!" lol
Good to see most of the Melbs boys at the tech day. Thanks so much Billy for hosting and helping me fit the mirror to Joanne's car, as well as helping with random bits and pieces. Martin - great to meet you, you're a genuinely nice guy and thanks for the rad cap, i'll use it when the plenum is back on the TT Adam - great to meet you also mate, thanks for the datascan on Joanne's car. It was great to get away from uni assignments and have a laugh with the guys, talk some shit and watch Chris get dragged under the car as per usual! Evan brought all his interior parts for re-fit, but then suffered a major case of cbf. And I must say, not many things sound tougher than an NA with the exhaust removed! Thanks for the day guys. Billy - let me know if you need help cleaning shit up, i'll come help. -Kirill
Thanks billy for the invite mate. Was glad i came down. Sorry i didn't make it till like 3pm but had work and shit. Still was glad to see Sandeep, Mike, Chris and Peter again and great to meet Martin and Kirill for the first time. So by the time i get there some of the stripping process had already began. Mostly the rear of the car had been stripped and by the time i arrived the guys were all huddled around Sandeep's fine machine discussing all things automotive. I had brought conzult along and got to work checking Martins Z first which which showed 2 error codes and his TPS value was way out. So Sandeep and I got to work adjusting his TPS and then we set his base idle to the correct value. I then checked Sandeep's car which was perfect as always. Kirill's girlfriends Z was next, which was fine as well. Evan's Z did show 1 error code for the A/C i think i but i did adjust his idle after it was stalling when i tried checking the values. Really enjoyed the conversation between the guys and myself which are always interesting and humourous which i love about us Z guys. Anyways it got dark by around 5:30pm and decided to leave when Sandeep and Kirill were going. But i did manage to take a few shots of the time i was there.:zlove:
i had a good day guys. i tried my best to stay clean but i love zeds too much and had to lend a hand. i promise next time to not help it was great to meet some martin and also good to chatch up with all the regulars. hopefully i can bring my zed to the next tech day. i think it has only come around to 1 tech day in the last 2 years
hands dirty from the exhaust-to-the-groin action to Peter. Man i'm bored as now, damnit. And yes i'm aware my nice green stripey undies kept surfacing all day. Nais!
Jake still wants the rear hubs etc. When you're ready to make it a non-rolling shell then let us know. Even if you can't tow the shell away, you can always get us round and we'll put it up on stands, strip everything off it.... and then cut the body into pieces. Can we hire one of those jaws of life from anywhere?
I reckon I could give it a decent go with those big tin snips again. Managed to get through the guard at least Ask Graham what he used to cut the front half off his silver TT wrecker. Possibly just an angle grinder? It would be awesome fun to COMPLETELY dismantle a zed
