Had a ball last Sunday, with 4 runs at the Grafton Hillclimb. :D

Think I was meant to kiss the ripple strip with the LHS

Patrick was there to take lots of photos. Can't wait to see the real embarrassing ones.

No body roll at all. Now I just have to work out how to get cold street tyres to be sticky.
Another hillclimb on the long weekend, think I might try taking off in second. Have dropped tyre pressure down to 28psi and that helped. Maybe need to go down a bit more.

    Always a problem

With hill climbs, no laps to warm them up.

Considering each run was over and done in under a minute, it sure felt a lot longer when you were driving. Mind you, there is no time to plan ahead, or at least I couldn't. Would sit before the start line and sort out what I wanted out of each corner, but after I left the start there was no spare brain power for what was coming up. You seem to be constantly correcting the position you have just got yourself into. There was one corner I was always braking too early, but I couldn't get it right. I pre-planned a braking point but never remembered to hit it during the run. Now I can't wait to do it all over again.

The two little voices inside the head are an interesting mix.

One says 'go hard' :D, the other says 'don't bend the zed' :zlove:

Haven't quite got the balance right yet.

Now I've got Luke giving me advice on how to take the first corner.
Oh the shame of it all! (The little bugger is probably right, damn it)

Get to do it again in a couple of weeks on the June long weekend. It is a round of the state titles so will be over two days. Practice on Saturday with 2 runs, then 4 runs on Sunday.

Nice one Dean, they are fun aren't they?

Regarding the cold tyres, did you drive your car to the track? If it was just a short drive it might be worth taking the scenic route so your tyres and brakes are nice and warm by the time you get there,

The 'Regs' say that any pre-warming of tyres is illegal. You are only allowed the burnout before you roll up to the start line. Tyres were already back to lukewarm 5 minutes after each run. With a 1.5 hour wait between runs, the rears were stone cold, & the fronts (thanks to the engine warmth) only a few degrees warmer.

Going to try starting in second to avoid wheelspin to and around the first corner, see if that gets me a quicker time.
