...anything I should be careful of? Wiggled the blower box out earlier this evening and found it chocker full of leaves! So that's easy, i'll just clean her up with the compressor in the morning (not now, will wake up the whole state with my compressor). So anyway, i've heard the blower box (or is the air con bits next to it? Sorry getting used to all these parts still) is quite fragile and expensive. Is there anything here that I ought to be specifically wary of? Or am I good to go blowing compressed air throughout and getting 20 years worth of debris out of the pipes, nooks and crannies?
May get one of those big garden blower vacs and rig it up so it sucks at the intake side ? Also blow backwards from the dash side ?.Might just work as they only fell in there in the first place so might come just blow/suck back out.Save a lot of work.
Nah i've already got the dash and all the pipes out anyway because of the heater core replacement. I spent about an hour before with a bucket of warm soapy water cleaning all the tubes. Now going to go out and clean out the blower box with some compressed air baby woo
Ok so progress thus far to date: - Completely cleaned blower box - all fan blades spotless (real PITA that was!) - Cleaned all air con ducts out...ooh nice and cleannn This arvo: - fix lifting dash, maybe repaint dash black - start dying other interior panels
nice progress man. what do u mean respray the dash? has anyone done this before??? havnt heard of it done personally ??
Kirill mentioned it the other day on msn. Vinyl/interior spray. I've got all sorts He said he'd seen one done and it looks awesome so I may give it a go. Interior is going to be black as black haha
Pics don't do it justice, but it looks great I'll try and take some good ones in the daylight, and also once the interior is back together again. Really happy with how it turned out, also need to do black areas on door trims to set the whole interior off
