http://www.news.com.au/story/0,27574,25133023-421,00.html " A police officer on the scene said the remote for the Nissan 300ZX sports car was in the hand of the boy's uncle who was in the driveway at the time of the accident. " Poor kid, silly parents!! Does anyone else have remote start on their car. Is this legal in QLD?
could have been a manual. most people ive seen with these usually have a turbo timer too, and it wont work unless the handbrake is on, also most people with a turbo timer are well int eh habit of leaving it in neutral
Those are pointless "wanker" features of an alarm. No offense to those who have them, but I'd rather wait an additional 3 minutes while warming my car up, then endanger those around the car. And it's easy to forget and leave it in gear. Or someone else could leave it in gear, which is exactly what happened to a friend of mine not long ago. Luckily, only his car suffered for it. -Kirill
Fair call, but I guess it's silly to just point the finger and blatantly say "that's illegal". A lot of things are illegal, sure, how many are dangerous? I'm not harping on about legality issues, just pointing out that everything should be treated as individual case. And in the case of remote start, the risk of knocking into someone/something is very real. -Kirill
I think alot of people on here are very quick to point out illegal mods when it doesnt concern them. An aftermarket suspension arm breaking over a bump at 100kph is extremely dangerous, thats why they are illegal without an engineers certificate. Ive got illegal mods on here just like 90% of people. which is why i dont go round pointing out the legal side of these things
Yes, just like all the people harping on about speeding. I can't speak on the behalf of others, but I for one have no concerns about legality, and only brought it up when you pointed out that a lot of other mods are illegal. For the record, here's my initial post in this thread, nothing mentioned about legality or otherwise: Those are pointless "wanker" features of an alarm. -Kirill I was only trying to point out that illegal and dangerous is not always the same thing, and I couldn't care on how legal / illegal remote start is, it's dangerous and that's the point I was making. -Kirill
I must be one of the few 10% then - coz all of my zed IS legal... And not that many of the 90% brag about their illegal mids either... The person who owns the car wil find out the hard way considering the investigators are taking it to be totally examined.... basically i dont see what the need is to have illegal stuff on the zed or any car.... is it something special/cool to have an illegal mod on your car?
