My black car cracked just over 310rwkw on it's second motor without a massive mod list. Although I like to think my mod list was targeted. Rebuilt motor with Hi-comp pistons 9:1 (this was luck, the second hand motor was built and I bought it off a wreck) Reground cams Hi-flowed Stock turbo's Dumps and 2.5" exhaust 555cc injectors SAFC Water/meth injection pre turbo and pre TB 18psi and the usual things like air filter, etc, etc without the water/meth injection the highest I got was 290rwkw. I would like to add that I snapped a conrod about 5 months after this, but pulling it apart the compressor's showed no sign of pitting from the injection.
Yeh I should have mentioned that it was an old thread, still a good one though. Interesting about the GT28RS because I had one of those on a FJ20ET, they are a two liter motor of course. Recall the boost spiking on the dyno and it hitting 330hp momentarily at the wheels but at 15 pounds it would do an easy 250 all day. I suspect that the twin cam VG30's strength is its big torque, rather than its outright power. They certainly are a sweet motor to drive.
300+ rwkw is not hard to achieve with a stock engine with the right upgrades .and at least high flowed turbos
Im hoping to do 300rwkw with my warm street motor. stock pistons, rods crank etc, just newly rebuilt stock cams, valves, ported + matched heads, ehaust manifolds, upper + lower intake manifolds 440 injectors + fuel pressure reg. High flow stock turbo's dumps + 3in exhaust 20 psi + Decent tune and a SAFC
Why do you want a SAFC? why not get an emanage blue and get that tuned? Would be much more effective than an SAFC.. -Kirill
with 20psi boost you should see those numbers 20psi boost and the gt28r turbos will make 300rwkw of course supporting mods are a factor and providing the 440cc injectors can supply you with enough juice then you should make that power
Agree I'm still running with stock auto cams. Have GT28r turbos with all the supporting mods, run 310 rwkw at the last dyno day, have also run 321 rwkw on martini 110 octane.
Fair enough if you already have a SAFC. But emanage blue isn't that much pricier than a SAFC.. -Kirill
True they're both piggy backs, but it's a VERY different basket. Ask any tuner the difference between SAFC and emanage blue and you'll get a very long answer. -Kirill
