    Hi Guys,

We have a problem with the HICAS on my zed and would appreciate your feedback.

It appears that we have a leak somewhere near the rack and actually drains the oil completely.

Has anybody had or heard of this problem before ???

oil ? wouldn't it be hydraulic/power steering fluid since its for steering? if so you proberly have a split on a hose somewhere that goes to it.

You are right it is the Hicas fluid reservoir that is draining......the leak is on the front side of the rack. This has just happened and we have not removed any of the shrouding underneath as yet.

    a) split in the hoses
    b) the thing that holds hoses on is not tight enough
    c) maybe a hole in the reserviour somewhere , ie stone chip.

best bet is a) due to the age of the hose.

What shrouding, and which rack are you talking about(as the only shrouding would be near the Steering Rack, NOT the HICAS Steering Actuator).
BTW, the reservoir is the Power Steering Fluid Reservoir(which also feeds the HICAS system, but is not confined to it).

If there is a large enough leak to drain the reservoir, then it should be very obvious where that leak is.:zlove:
