Magnaflow Mufflers and Centre Resonators

Got some great prices for another Magnaflow GB, but this time extends to include a centre resonator which acts as both a muffler and a x-pipe. There has been plenty of discussion about this and a lot of info is available in Zed Related. Some benefits include reduction of drone, help get around the legislation of "reducing the effectiveness of a exhaust system" and in some cases reducing smoke from turbo seals.

We need 10 mufflers in total to get the following prices. So 4 sets of rear mufflers and 2 centre mufflers, 1 set of rear mufflers and 8 centre mufflers etc.

The following prices are for 2 mufflers delivered to your door.

    #14803 - $490.00

    #14804 - $490.00

    #14807 - $475.00 (as per LOWZX)

    #14816 - $530.00 (what I've got)

    #14829 - $430.00

These are fully polished stainless steel to suit 2.5" exhaust pipe. I received a set in the last GB and I'm very impressed with the quality.

For the centre muffler I've gone with a fully stainless, twin entry, twin exit stainless steel resonator. These are NOT polished as the cost goes up significantly...

    #11386 - $248.00 (for one shipped)

These are approx 1/2 the price of the UAS centre resonator. So what don't you get for half the money?

These are NOT Australian made (made in USA)
These are NOT quite as large so may not be as effective
    These are NOT polished

But for the price these are a bargain!

For some reason the cost to ship two mufflers is the same as shipping one, so if two people near by can combine shipping the price goes down.

Once we have the numbers I will send out the payment details and then delivery is 1 to 2 weeks from the states.

I know that this is very soon after the last GB, so it may have to be shelved for a few months if we can't get the numbers.

    Start of the list!

If this drags on for a while I might be in for at least a centre muffler, not right now though.

    Same here

I'd prob be in for a centre muffler also if it drags out for awhile. Any idea how these fit to the standard exhaust system? I just got cannons on the back (came with the car) and also in the GB for the mangaflow high cats wanna just fit both to the standard exhaust to help flow.

might i say something?? The "14807"s you have pictured are actually the 14805. The 07's have bigger tips, although this is a glitch from the Magnaflow website.

You should also check what kind of piping, how it is bent, and what the muffler is packed with. Being significantly smaller it is not going to be near as effective but if price is a concern then yeah i guess it will be attractive ... Also note being a generic muffler it is going to require more work to fit and pipes as straight in out rather than angled.

    Not yours SI........

he means the ones on your car ARE the 14807's with the 4" tips..........the ones Chrispy has shown in the original thread which is the image from the Magnaflow website is the WRONG picture for the 14807's!

    DEFINTELY X PIPE!!!

Yes these centre mufflers DEFINITELY have the perforated version of the Magnaflow 'Tru X' pipe inside........

    http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/02xypipes.asp

I bought a similar muffler in the STS GB with my 14807's!.......but I went for the 12468 as it is closer in overall dims to the UAS version........just not quite as wide (8" compared to 10"), same length muffler body but overall slightly longer (24" compared to 22")........but the inlet/outlet pipes could be cut shorter if needed when installed??.......which will probably need to be done anyway as the outlet pipes are NOT angled like the UAS one!

Here are the UAS dims thanks to LOWZX! ;)

    oval height 5 inches
    width of oval 10 inches
    length of body 18 inches
    overall length 22 inches

    http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/shopexd.asp?zone=main&id=7679
don't worry it says 3" inlet/outlet on the image but they do come in 2.5"

Beautiful piece of work!.........the brushed stainless looks awesome! :zlove:
plus these are 100% stainless with a LIFETIME warranty!

Why do you people keep trying to make me spend my money!!!

If this takes a little while to get going I will be in as I need to stretch my spending over to my next pay in a few weeks time.

Consider it a EOI, but not a commitment if it is finalised too soon.

    Cheers,

    Dan

It looks like the 12468 centre muffler has the X-pipe inside. There is no mention of X-pipe (as fas as I can see) on 11386
