Hi Steve I caught up with John very briefly yesterday and I plum forgot to ask him about them. I will get onto it ASAP and post up the latest info. Bear with me I am also right in the middle of packing and moving to our new home so my replies might take a day or so from now on also. Dont fret I am still around just stupidly busy. Cheers JAson
RADIATORS ARE IN GUYS AND GIRLS Bear with me all I am right in the middle of moving so may ask you for your info again etc if I cant find it. I want to try and get this all sorted in the next day or so before we complete the move to the new house as I wont have net access for a few days while Optus does there thing. Stay tuned J
Okay all Can you forward me your current mailing addresses so these babies can be sent to you ASAP. Cheers Jason
jason before you send my radiator out i would like to ask you if you can give me some info regarding the SPAL fan ,ex is it easy to fit on the radiator ?, is it easy to connect to the car and how does it work ? thanks
The spal fan mounts onto the special tabs already built into the radiator. You need a 20 amp relay and fuse etc and if handy can make up a new wiring harness for the fan circuit or get an auto elect to do it for you. Things you will need apart from the fan Echlin switch (electric switch thermostat to cycle fan) mounts into custom boss on radiator 20 amp relay overide switch (not really needed but good to have) Wiring Some small nuts M8 I beleive or maybe M6 I can confirm on my car soon The echlin switch retails for around $60 I think while the relay etc should only cost maybe 20 bucks max You can use the thermo with or without the factory shroud as you see fit, there is pros and cons for each. Hope this helps JAson
Im abit consurned about how many amps does the fan draws bacouse i just fited my car with a brailli light weight battery and i dont know if it will cope with such a load from the fan ? This is propobly a stupid question but if you connect the fan straight on the battery the fan would run at its full right ? if so then is int it posible to connect a variable resistor or potestiometer or what ever its called between the fan and the battery and manualy contral how much voltage and current goes to the fan and maibe also have a device that monitors how much rpm the fan is doing abit like how the fans work in a computer where you have a monitor where it shows you how much amps its drawing and how many rpms its doing that way i have full contol over the fan , is this method logical or not
I doubt the fan will draw a full 20 amps, but with the relay it's better to have headroom rather than risk burning out a lower rated relay and have your fan stop working without knowing. But even if it did a 20 amp draw should be handled by just about any quality battery. Even an entry level one should be able to put out several hundred hot cranking amps. Your average sound system will draw around 10-20 amps by itself, more with an amp etc. so I'd say you will be fine. Do you have a CCA or HCA rating on your battery? Ben
I have had mine pulling 16.7 amps max which is pretty much inline with the manufacturers specs was a hot day too 20 Amp would be minimum circuit size for these spal fans
Hi all I managed to get over to UAS today and finalise the GB regarding the final payments etc. Still waiting on Jedi 77's address, sorry Mark it got lost during the packing. The radiators are being modified slightly at the moment due to PWR not fitting the shroud tabs onto the radiators. This work should be all finished mid next week. 3 have already been done and will be shipped out Monday while the others will go around Wednesday or Thursday of next week. Marco and Claymens (extras) have both been ordered and are currently being made up also. A more accurate ETA will be given later next week. Cheers JAson
They are all there Ben today 3 have been modified already and the other three were in the works so all will go out at some stage next week. I can check with them to make sure yours and retros go out together first if you like but cant guarantee anything at this stage as Tim is now the man Cheers Jason
Mark I will ask Tim tomorrow morning I believe they were sent out yesterday but will double check and post up when known Cheers Jas
I got mine this morning so I guess they were sent out Thanks again Jason for organising, it looks pretty sweet. Ben
