Hey everyone im looking to get a service manual for my car.. because i am attepting the 100k service soon so i need all the info i can get.. Is a Aus-spec and a Jap-spec manual.. Cause the one i can get from work is for australian delivered models.. is there a difference. Its for a 1990 Jap NA cheers James
You'll be fine with either. I don't even bother with the service manual anymore when changing timing belt etc. Just use the tech writeup and you'll be fine. Not hard at all.
go for it Good on you james for doing it yourself. good luck, although im sure you wont need it. you will save alot of money and be very satisfied with the result i think.
thanks guys.. yeh i got the kit ready to go, aswell as GFB crank pulley, pex overdive pulley.. gona drop the box a little later n fit new clutch n fly with some other goodies to go on aswell.. should be a good learning experience Cheers James
Hey Chris.. i am planning on do the 100k serivce possibly this week with a mate.. just a question when i reset the cam timing if its off how can i move the cam.. i was told you need to remove the plenum and cam covers to turn the cam.. is this trueor can you turn it from the front to line up the dimples? Cheers James
id say you'd be right with either (if there are any differences at all). all in all its probably not worth buying the service manual, the instructions are so vague on how to do everything, tech section write ups are far better
I just grabbed hold of the suckers and turned them with my mighty hands. Just make sure you have a firm grip, as a few of them are likely to rotate on their own.
