Just wondering if anyone could recommend how to fit mesh inserts into a front bar? I propose to use the sheets of mesh you get from autobarn. My problem is fitting since there appear to be a few of options (ie. glue, screw) and its not something you want to stuff up Thanks in advance!
Wow, that's heaps more effort than I put in... I just oversized the mesh cutout, bent it around the inside of the vents and put a few patches of FG (or might have been sikaflex) on the bent-over mesh. Yours looks MUCH better, but I figured people wouldn't see behind the front far much at all - Except Fleet... it seems like I've got him in there all the time!!! Thanks Pete.
if your front bar doesnt have clip mounts like the 2K bar, then like Phoenix said, sikaflex will do the job.
Thankyou all Not sure what sikaflex is but i will buy a tube and go crazy with it! I have the 2000 front bar but it doesnt have those neat clips...
Is it a copy bar as i was under the impression the clips were on genuine ones, also get the sikaflex from bunnings, its cheapest from there
yep, sikaflex is the way to go .... and, as suggested, go way oversize to ensure that you do not get the 'ol sika anywhere near your openings .... and good as it is, sikaflex is a messy product to use .. be prepared to end up with it all over hands, under fingernails, wherever .... ... just have turps ready and clean up as you go.... lol...!!!
From the "factory" on other makes of cars the mesh is glued in using Urathane ( stronger than sikaflex ) Wear rubber gloves when using either sikaflex or urathane, & mask off any areas that may cop a dribble of the stuff I'm no fan of sikaflex, its failed one time too many for me in the past...... its should be :banned:
